Agenda: Argus Americas Rare Earths Summit 2016
14:00 -17:30 Supply Chain Workshops
Many of your peers and colleagues told us last year that the discussion groups formed the most essential part of the programme. We’ve made some changes so that you’ll find them even more valuable.
This year you’ll have access to a full afternoon of group discussions and information sharing, and will have the opportunity to join each topic area as the workshops ro-tate throughout the afternoon. This ensures you can learn about the upstream rare earths industry and really get to meet your fellow attendees in a structured discussion session.
Sessions you’ll join include:
• Analysis of new rare earth projects and what is needed to ensure a successful supply outside China Clint Cox, President, The Anchor House
• Discussions regarding the environmental impacts of only purchasing Chinese material, and why a western project is more expensive to run Daryl Spindler, Plant Operations Manager, Palm Com-modities Internationalus
• Western processing plants, and where their supply comes from Speaker to be announced
• Advancing technologies in rare earths processing Speaker to be announced
• Regional discussions – How the European supply chain differs to the North American supply chain Speaker to be announced

Agenda: Argus Americas Rare Earths Summit 2016
Site visit: Colorado School of Mines and Critical Materials Institute Lab
Last year’s site visit to the Molycorp facility at Mountain Pass was an unforgettable part of the event that delegates valued not just for the information but also for the opportunity for an informal get-together.
This year Argus has collaborated with the Colorado School of Mines to offer a different viewpoint on the industry. You’ll join 60+ peers from across the rare earths value chain to explore this leading laboratory environment which investigated rare earths processing, sup-ply and substitution. This is a key facility within the Critical Materials Institute’s research consortium, working in conjunction with the US Department of Energy, the Ames Laboratory and more.
More than just a ‘look around’, you’ll find out how one of the CMI’s network of laboratories is working with industry and government to resolve challenges of economics, supply and processing. With live video link-ups to other labs you’ll have a range of experts to question on the future of your sector and the future of substitutions and the evolution of materials processing.
The site visit is a complementary addition to your registration - all attendees will need approval from the facility before their participation is confirmed.
