Dear Reader,
As you will notice in the header we have changed our company name
to Blygold Oceania due to our expansion into New Zealand and the Pa-
cific Islands.
We are proud to introduce Xavier Castelltort to you as our new partner
in New Zealand. Xavier will be based in Auckland but he will service all
of NZ from there. We are lucky to have been able to find a new partner
in Xavier as he has a lot of experience in managing companies and
recognised the need for protective coatings in NZ.
You can find his contact details on this page. It was great to catch up at
the ARBS exhibition with so many of you and we look forward to con-
tinuing and expanding our good relationships.
Best regards,
Ray Van Haven

The ARBS Exhibition in May at the Melbourne Exhibition and Convention Centre
was a great success for Blygold Oceania, with all the partners attending at the
stand to talk with clients as well as interested parties. The Blygold International
General Manager Charlie Wijnveen and the International Blygold Trainer Michel
van Basten visited for two days as well which was exceptionally well timed. The
stand attracted a lot of attention.

Blygold Queensland has recently assisted Coachair with a trial project.
The coils were required to blend in with the colour scheme of the
buses owned by Coachair’s client. The coils were coated with Refamac
3509 rust penetrating primer coating then the colour-coded top coat
was applied.
What is the difference between pre-
coat (epoxy, vinyl) and Blygold?
Blygold’s coating is an aluminum-
impregnated polyurethane, which is ap-
plied after the heat exchanger is assem-
bled to allow for total coverage and
complete penetration. Epoxy / vinyl
coatings are inferior to polyurethane by
their composition and the pre-coat proc-
ess does not permit total coverage due to
the cut edges being exposed after fabri-
cation. Not only will pre-coat systems
have a very temporary effect against
corrosion they will also reduce the ini-
tial capacity by up to 15 % due to the
layer between copper and aluminum.
Blygold SA-NT helps clients insulate against Carbon Tax
increase in costs.
As most people in the industry would be well aware, the
price of refrigerant is about to sky rocket to $140 per Kilo
which of course is an unwelcome maintenance cost for
Owners, Facility Managers and Manufacturers which occurs
when a pin hole leak becomes evident on a Copper Elbow
or Header. The standard Blygold Coating includes a double
layer of Blygold protection in this area. Our product will at
least double the lifespan of these Copper headers. This unit
is bound for the Edinburgh Airforce Base in Northern Ade-
laide and will have years of trouble free energy efficient run-
ning.
Blygold Australia has now expanded their operations to New Zea-
land as well as the Pacific Islands.
The new partner in NZ is Xavier Castelltort. Xavier has an aca-
demic background and has a history of running numerous suc-
cessful businesses. He is looking forward to establishing the Bly-
gold brand and services in the whole of New Zealand.
Blygold NZ is Auckland based. However, Xavier will service the
whole of New Zealand from there. So far the reception by suppli-
ers, maintenance companies, consultants and end-users has been
very welcoming as corrosion in HVAC coils and equipment is very
severe in most of NZ.
We wish Xavier well in establishing Blygold as an integral part of
the HVAC environment in NZ.

FROM THE
INTERNATIONAL DESK
No 10 Downing Street: As many of you may know, the Prime
Minister of the United Kingdom resides at 10 Downing Street, Lon-
don. 10 Downing Street began its association with the office of the
Prime Minister as early as 1730. That the house is still being used
today by (currently) David Cameron is down to the refusal of first-
ever PM Robert Walpole to accept the house as a personal gift.
Instead he insisted it be used by future “First Lords of the Treas-
ury” (Source: www.number10.gov.uk). Over the years many Prime Minis-
ters have resided here and the official residence has been updated to
modern standards several times. During one of these updates it also
received an HVAC system, needed to provide comfort cooling and
heating for the PM and the staff that work there to support him.
In August of 2011 Blygold UK coated a new Mitsubishi PURY-
P400 condensing unit with PoluAl XT on the heat exchanger and a
black finish on the panels. The black finish was needed to make the
unit match the already present units. With this treatment the unit
will be good for many a year of comfort-cooling for the PM and all
those who live and work at 10 Downing Street.
Blygold Queensland is currently engaged to maintain the Blygold
coating on three Powerpax chillers at the Gold Coast Airport. The
chillers were coated by Blygold Victoria and now Blygold Queen-
sland carry out a strict maintenance schedule to ensure con-
tinuous efficient running of the machines.
This environment is particularly aggressive for the aluminium
fins due to the kerosene exhaust gasses—vapors of the planes
and the close vicinity of the sea.
VICTORIA: problems prevented
The headers of the Micro Channel Heat Xchanger coils of a York
unit protected at the Travelodge in the Melbourne Docklands
against further corrosion prior to being coated with an anti-
corrosion top coating of PoluAl XT.
