MiModa Studio is a multi-purpose events facility in the heart of Los Angeles adjacent to the burgeoning PaPer or PlaStik Café —a full-service one-stop shop for food, drink, community, and culture all under one vaulted ceiling. Housed in a building that dates back to the 1950s, Mimoda Studio was formerly home to the renowned Dancers Studio, a hallmark of the Angeleno dance community, and the café’s past incarnations include a stint as a Laundromat followed by a printing press. Renovated in recent years to highlight the building’s intrinsic char-acter, the space features original wood beam bow-truss ceilings and skylights, stunning wood-work, and gorgeous floor-to-ceiling windows that are unrivaled in Mid- City.
With its chic, industrial warehouse interiors and steam-punk accents, Mimoda Studio & Paper or Plastik Cafe provide a spatial experience rarely found in central Los Angeles. The location is easily accessible to both the east and west sides of the city, and is immediately adjacent to Culver City, Beverly Hills, Mid-Wilshire Vista, and the bourgeoning West Adams neighborhoods.
The building’s unique layout provides for a number of possible arrangements for staging events. Our studio can hold up to 150 people for a standing reception. The street-facing café at the front of the building, with its industrial windows and romantic mezzanine, can serve as a magical reception space on its own or in addition to the studio space. The café space can accommodate an additional 50 guests.

CATERING OPTIONSPaper or Plastik Café proudly serves carefully prepared, excellently sourced food and beverages of the highest quality. Our acclaimed coffee program consists of house-roasted single origin beans along with a selection of coffees sourced from third wave coffee roasters around the country. Each cup is individually brewed ensuring a consistent, fully realized coffee experience with each pour.
Our dedication to quality does not stop at coffee. Our entire beverage selection is hand-picked to highlight excellent quality teas, microbreweries, and exceptional wines.
Our food philosophy is to pay homage to seasonal and local ingredients with comforting, innovative, and healthy preparations. We work directly with small farmers, local bakeries, and the best purveyors we can find.
We would be honored to provide your event with the best of our culinary offerings. We offer coffee bar packages, as well as custom-designed menus by our chef for partial or full catering from our kitchen.
