BIBLICAL PROFILE OF A CHRISTIAN LEADER
SERVANT
1. LUKE 17: 7-10 ⇒ As Disciples of Lord Jesus Christ we are called to serve,
not be served (Matt. 20:28) ⇒ Be spent, not to spend (2 Corinthians 12:15) ⇒ Give rather than receive (Acts 20:35)
But strangely, we observe the opposite in practice. It seems to be good theory but taboo in practice.
2. Not Worthy Rewards:
⇒ Christian leaders are slaves of the Lord Jesus Christ by their own choice (Exodus 21:1-6; 1 Corinthians 9:19)
⇒ Christian leaders are called to serve out of love, not out of expectation of rewards (John 21:15-18)
3. Not Worthy of Remuneration:
⇒ Christian leaders have not love for money (1 Timothy 3:3; 2 kings 22:7 1 Timothy 6:10-12)
⇒ Christian leaders have an attitude to please his Master always (Philippians 2:5-11)
⇒ Christian leaders have team work spirit and make themselves available to their team (1 Corinthians 3:4-9)
4. Not Worthy of Recognition:
⇒ God honors His servants (Acts 7:56) ⇒ There is a promise of heavenly recognition (John 12:36) ⇒ God is not unjust to forget our tears (Hebrews 6:10)
