Remote locations or harsh climatic conditions can pose significant challenges to the construction and operation of industrial facilities. To encounter clients’require-ments of constant availability of a thermal plant in par-ticular and difficult situations, Bono has designed and manufactured complete turnkey solutions. An exam-ple is our “full-optional” containerized thermal plant outfitted with two OMV 600 thermal oil heaters, engines, pumps and all electric aids. This containerized solu-tion has found several applications including the wood process industry in the UK and the oil & gas industry in Russia and North Africa.
Tailors in action: containerized solutions. At BONO, we collaborate with our customers to engineer hea-vily customized solutions for challenging applications. Heavy duty applications, such as crude oil pumping stations in Siberia, needs very consistent performance and reliable heaters. The limited space available in the pumping stations and the extremely remote and difficult environmental conditions were the main challenges in this project. To make it possible, we worked together with our custo-mers (two Russian engineering companies) to co-engineer the best technical solution. The result was a thermal heater designed to fit in special containers for easy shipment and installation. The new design also focuses on fast maintenance operations. All the steps, from the project design to the after-sales service, were supported by the con-tinuous assistance of the Bono Russian office.
BONO heaters can comply with the high demanding specifications of the petrochemical and plastics industries. When the production process needs very high operating temperature (up to 400°C), BONO HTH thermal oil heaters are the best solution. Two high temperature HTH heaters, with a thermal capacity of 16,3 MW each, have been installed in two plants of a Chinese PET and polyester manufacturer.A Finnish refining company also chose HTH heaters for two plants in the Netherlands and in Singapore. The heaters, with a capacity of 8.5 MW each, comply with API 560 standards.

BONO worked together with a French Engineering company, assisted a Lebanese poultry processing company to dra-stically reduce its energy costs. The organic waste produ-ced from chicken processing was turned into animal oil, and BONO designed a special SG-1000 (10 t/h) boiler fired by this oil.The ash content of this fuel is particularly high, and the cu-stomer needs to clean the internal parts of the boiler every month. For this reason, the BONO SG-Model provides a simple and effective maintenance process for the customer.
Customization is the word
BONO fire tube steam boilers can be found in thousands of industrial plants, for different applications around the world. Today, the Far East is the most important growth area for our company. In Vietnam, a French pharmaceutical company has recently installed an SM-400 (a 4 t/h boiler). In Indonesia, a local food and beverage company has purchased two SM-500 (5 t/h boiler) fired by natural gas and diesel oil for their
production processes.

Edible oil refineries need high pressure and continuous high
temperature steam for their deodorization process. BONO
UM-High Pressure flash coil steam generators can provide
steam at 200/300°C and operate up to 120 bar. The internal
16Mo3 special steel alloy coil, designed and manufactured in-
house, also assures excellent wear and fatigue resistance.
Some references of BONO’s UM-HP natural circulation ge-
nerators can be found in edible oil refineries in China, Nigeria,
Kenya and Denmark. These boilers are fuelled by natural gas
and diesel oil, with a thermal capacity of 1,75 MW and provi-
ding 4,6 t/h of steam each.

BONO has supplied water tube boilers to the Chinese market since the early 90s and over the years we are able to fully understand Chinese regulations and local customer needs. For example, working side by side with our Chinese partners, Bono supplied two water-tube boilers, with a saturated steam production of 40 t/h, to a Chinese petrochemical enterprise in Puyang.
A French sugar producer awarded Bono a project for the supply of a water tube boiler with challenging requirements in terms of reliability, efficiency and emissions. The result was a site-erected water tube boiler (170 t/h) fired by four burners and fuelled with natural gas. The boiler provided superheated steam at 485 C° and respected all the emission limits imposed.
Bono in China – steam generator
Making life sweeter – superheated steam boiler
In district heating systems, heat is generated efficiently in a
central location and distributed to residential, industrial and
commercial sites. Bono worked with a leading Italian multi-
utility to supply three super-heated water generators with
a capacity of 80 MW each. The new boilers replaced older
coal fired units. According to client’s requirements Bono
offered an ultra-low NOx emission solution: 50 mg/Nm3 at
3% O2. Due to their very large size, the generators were
designed to be manufactured in modules and assembled
on site. These new generators provide auxiliary thermal
energy to the multi-utility network during peak hours.
BONO Energia supplied a waste heat recovery steam generator to a refinery in Congo, Africa. The project was managed by a large EPC contractor that was responsible of the first phase of a requali-fication project of some oil plants in Congo. BONO delivered a waste heat recovery steam generator, with capacity of 15 t/h, steam pressure of 13 bar and temperature of 230°C, feeding an RSV process (Recycle Split Vapor) used to split ethane and propane from natural gas.
When an important French power generation com-pany decided to modernize their production site in Le Havre, they chose Bono as their partner for the installation of two auxiliary water tube boilers. The required capacity was 130 t/h of super-heated steam per boiler. BONO worked together with the customer to provide a complete turn-key project: from the full engineering of the system and shop manufacturing, to on-site installation and erection, commissioning and start-up of the boilers.
