How has the music played throughout Brazil changed in the last 50 years? Is globalization causing more Western music genres to be played?

• Put data (FID, artist name, location, genre, gender) into Excel spreadsheets
• Create shapefiles in ArcCatolog and points in ArcMap Editor

• Slight rise in traditional genres in the 90s but has dropped since
• More genres as time goes on so an increasingly diverse music scene
• Brazil mostly hates women but has seen a slight rise in women artists since the 80s– No female artists from the Northeast
