The 18.7 kW system, featuring 87 REC 215 AE modules, was installed on the rooftop of Brückl’s home in October 2008. It has an annual capacity of 15,700 kilowatt hours and is expected to provide a return of approximately 200 000 Euros over the expected 25 year lifespan.
A total of 87 modules are installed on the 260 sqm roof: 32 on one side at a 30 degree angle and a further 55 on the other side at a 21 degree angle.
“I invested in the REC modules because I knew they would be durable and reliable”, said Brückl, “They have met my expectations so far and I would gladly recom-mend them to other homeowners.”

PROJECT OVERVIEW
REC’s 215 watt AE-Series modules were ideal for a German retiree looking to invest in a low-maintenance residential solar system.
HOMEOWNER KARL-HEINZ BRÜCKL wished to invest in a solar system for his home, in Drachselsried, south-eastern Germany. Brückl, a retiree, viewed the solar system as a low-risk opportunity to benefit from Germany’s stable solar feed-in tariffs. He wanted to use the most reliable components in the system, in order to max-imize the long-term return on his investment, while also minimizing the maintenance and attention associated with it.
Through research, Brückl identified REC solar modules as a reliable and durable choice that also offered a high price-to-performance ratio. As a result, he decided to purchase the REC modules for the system.
