ADVERTISING, MARKETING AND PUBLIC RELATIONS

Course DescriptionThis course is suitable for those working in marketing, sales, public relations, communications and brand/product management. It is about writing marketing plans and developing strategies; assessing international business opportunities and management of the whole marketing process. It is applicable across a wide range of industries and the assessments often allow you to select what industry you want to specialise in.

Course deliveryComplete your Advanced Diploma Marketing at your own convenience, in your own time and in your own way. This is your learning. Fully online facilitated program over 12 months will allow you to control your own learning at a pace you are comfortable with. It is advised that you work about eight hours per week (guideline only) in order to complete the qualification.

This course is the practical application of a marketing managers role. You will learn how to manage your own marketing research, strategy and planning and develop a portfolio appropriate for showcasing your marketing management skills.

A dedicated online facilitator (teacher) is available to help you manage your learning, available for contact, provide support and feedback on your learning.

AssessmentsA range of assessment methods are used in this course. These include case studies, reports and practical exercises all of which form your own marketing portfolio for showcasing your work.

Entry Requirements – preferred pathwayWhile there are no formal educational requirements for entry into this course, the completion of the 17856 Diploma of Marketing (BSB51207) or equivalent industry experience is the recommended pathway. To help us assess your suitability for this course you may be asked to provide evidence of your previous qualifications and experience. Read the Entry Requirements page at the back of this brochure for more details.

Career pathwaysStudents who complete this course may apply for direct entry into the Australian Catholic University or Macquarie University or enrol in the Bachelor of Business Studies at Charles Sturt University, delivered at TAFE NSW – Northern Sydney Institute’s Crows Nest College. Recognition of Prior LearningTAFE NSW recognises the skills and knowledge you have gained in other courses, life experience or at work. You may be able to have your prior learning recognised and credited against a course of study. Terms and conditionsRegistration and payment are required to confirm your place and must be received before you commence your online studies. Cancellations advised in writing more than seven (7) days prior to course commencement are eligible for a full refund. Once a student has commenced their studies, there is a seven (7) day cooling off period. Any cancellations made within that seven (7) days will receive a full refund except an administrative fee of $150. If a course is cancelled you are entitled to a full refund.

There are no entry requirements for this qualification. Candidates may enter the qualification through a number of entry points demonstrating potential to undertake vocational education and training at advanced diploma level, including:

Preferred Pathway Recommended Evidence

117856 Diploma of Marketing (BSB51207) or other relevant qualifications(s)

Copy of Certificate or Transcript (from TAFE or other registered training organisation) or supply your TAFE student number.

Provide evidence of competency in the majority of units required for the BSB51207 Diploma of Marketing or other relevant qualification/s

Copy of your Certificate or Transcript (from TAFE or other registered training organisation) or supply your TAFE student number.

AND

Provide information about how you have used the skills and knowledge gained to date – this could be in the form of resume, position descriptions, and/or statements from employers

No formal marketing qualification but with:

– substantial vocational marketing experience, with overall responsibility for providing strategic direction and planning for an organisation’s marketing function, either domestically or internationally or

–extensive vocational marketing experience in senior marketing positions with a wide range of skills in a specialised marketing communications discipline and looking to consolidate specialist marketing skills with more generic management skills.

Provide resume, position descriptions and/or statements from employers. Examples of indicative job roles for candidates seeking entry based upon their vocational experience include marketing manager, marketing team leader, product manager, public relations manager.
