President’s Message
I want start this months note with a great big “THANK YOU” for making this years club show a big success. Those of you who participated helped make it a show to remember.
Our featured carver was great! Bill Grater had a display that would knock your socks off —what a talented person to have as a member of our club and be as helpful as he is. Thank you Bill. Dave Disselbrett had the show ready and running as smooth as silk. Thanks Dave for you time and com-mitment. Lynn Lake and her granddaughter Elizabeth did a fine job once again. Getting the food, setting-up, serving and cleaning up the meal that we had Saturday night. This was the third year that they have done this for our club and guests. Again thank you Lynn and Elizabeth. It feels so good to be part of a group that works so hard and gets along so well.
Our efforts to find a sister club to exchange Christmas ornaments is a done deal. The Sacramento CA Capitol Carvers will be our participating club and our contact person, Billie Faulkner, has agreed to put this activity together. Thank you Billie, you have a group on both ends excited to do this this year.
This month Vice-President, Frank Campbell will be presiding over the meeting as I will not be able to attend, but I’ll be back in May. Don’t forget that Barbara Millikan will be our presenter this month, the topic will be the adult and child face.
I have been doing some salmon fishing, but no salmon catching. Seems that the fish are not ready to leave the ocean and begin their travel to their spawning grounds. The cold weather and water may have something to do with it. Any way what better way to spend the day than on the water with good company.
I’m looking forward to seeing all of you in may. Please stay happy and healthy.
