NIGHT TONIGHT
Please join us TONIGHT from 4 to 8 p.m. at
the Barnes and Noble at the Greenwood Park
Mall for a family fun event.
We will have crafts, face painting, gift
wrapping, and story time. At 7 p.m. we will
have a special reading of the Polar Express
and each child in attendance will receive a free
hot chocolate and a cookie. Children are
encouraged to wear their pajamas for the
special reading.
Additionally if you decide to purchase some-
thing WV will receive 15% of all the sales dur-
ing that time if you mention WV at the check-
out.

LOST AND FOUND
The lost and found is overflowing with cloth-
ing like jackets and hats. If your student is
missing a jacket, please have them check the
lost and found area near the cafeteria.

5TH GRADE PARENTS
PERMISSION SLIP REMINDER
The fifth grade class will be presenting a
music program on Tuesday, December 18, at
6:30 p.m. in the Winchester Village gym.
We will have the students stay after school that
evening and will have something for them to
eat before the performance. Permission slips
have been sent home; please sign and return
your student’s permission slip promptly to
school.
We are very excited to perform for you.
SECOND AND FIFTH GRADE HIGH
ABILITY SCREENING
Dear Parents/Guardians of second and fifth grade students:
We need additional information on the academic needs and performance of individual students in order to provide instruction at the appropriate level for each child. We are continuing our screening for the high ability program and depending on the information needed your second or fifth grade child may be administered a standardized test during the month of December. Parents of students who qualify for the program will receive a letter by the end of May.

Tickets are on sale now for $4 and $5 the night
of the dance. If sending money in to purchase
tickets, please put the money in an envelope
with your student’s name, teacher’s name and
“WINTER DANCE” on the outside of the
envelope. Don’t forget to wear your best

Keep those Box Tops for education coming. Each box top
clip helps us put on events for the students to enjoy like our
Winter Dance and Teacher Appreciation Week.
Cold and flu season is upon us. Vomiting, diarrhea and
fever are a few symptoms that can occur with illness. Here
is a reminder about when students should stay home:
Accidents happen, so if your child returns home in different
clothes than what they went to school. Please wash and
return the clothes so we have them for the next “accident”.

2019 CHOICE APPLICATION INFORMATION
The choice application period for the 2019-2020 school year will be open on January 14, 2019 through February 22,
2019. Applications and instructions will be available through our website under the “For Parents” tab as well as each
elementary school. There will be limited choice of 20 spots per Kindergarten Academy for incoming Kindergarten stu-
dents. There will be no transportation provided for the Kindergarten Choice Program. Please read the instructions and
complete the application as directed.
2019-20 KINDERGARTEN REGISTRATION INFORMATION
Kindergarten registration will begin on January 7, 2018 for those students who will be enter ing Kindergar ten in
the Fall of 2019. The student must turn 5 years old on or before August 1, 2019 in order to register. The Kindergarten
Academy your student will attend is determined by your residence only and not where other siblings may be attending.
