Page 1: Cherry Creations

Welcome to Cherry Creations, the home office of Pepper Cherry, the designer for all your unique home and Sim needs. Let's take an exclusive tour of this fantastic building.

Goddess Note: Doing something a little different with my slides this time. The photos are lower quality, because I have to keep my game on Medium graphics, so I have more room for text. In these “Goddess Notes,” I'll be discussing build challenges, observations and other thoughts in an OOC manner.

Page 2: Cherry Creations

The first floor of this uniquely luxurious lot features an office, office waiting area and public restroom, as well as a private hall leading to a living room, bathroom, kitchen and dining room. Spacious outdoors have several enticing relaxation areas.

Goddess Note: I was going mad trying to straighten this shot and to figure out how to take a top-down shot without the grid. I gave up. ^^;

Page 3: Cherry Creations

The second floor features another bathroom, the master bedroom, and a study that can be converted into a child's bedroom as the family grows.

Goddess Note: I had actually intended to have a laundry room where the study is, but since there are currently no laundry facilities in the game...it worked out for the best, in the long run. I do plan to have Pepper expand her family.

Page 4: Cherry Creations

The roof top patio is a great place to have a bit of secluded R&R. Planters allow growing small plants, and a BBQ grill and cafe table provide snacking options.

Goddess Note: This was the failed roof I talked about on the forums. It completely and totally glitched out. Not only did my original roof no longer work, I couldn't get ANY roof to work up here. But, when life hands you lemons, make lemonade! Or squeeze the peels in its face. Or both. :D

Page 5: Cherry Creations

The beautiful roadways in this neighborhood make a gorgeous, seamless approach to the front of the building.

Goddess Note: This is a little more sparse on windows than I'd like, but I ran up against some sort of error part way through my build that prevented me from placing windows where I wanted them, even if there was no object being “intersected” on either side of the wall. This was part of my reason for the roof choices and bathroom placements.

Page 6: Cherry Creations

This grand entrance speaks of the grand things Pepper can design!

Goddess Note: I love this door! I just wish there were more color options for it. The green, in particular, is not consistent across items. Also, it annoys me that fencing, such as the iron fence lining the walkway, can't go all the way up to meet the edge of the lot.

Page 7: Cherry Creations

The office entrance and waiting area provides plush, comfortable accommodations while you wait...even though it's usually not a long wait!

Goddess Note: I see cameraman mode is going to drive me crazy once again in this game. Ah, well. It still does better angles than the regular camera does.

Page 8: Cherry Creations

A quick pit stop in the public restroom...

Goddess Note: That is TOTALLY a bathroom painting...LOL

Page 9: Cherry Creations

...and then we're off back to the office.

Goddess Note: I had put that accent table in with the intent of it being a “changing table,” since I couldn't find one in the bathroom options. I also didn't find good options for public restroom accents (extra toilet rolls, paper towel dispenser/hot air dryer, etc), so I pretended that industrial sink encompasses those.

Page 10: Cherry Creations

With high hopes for plenty of business, there's plenty of comfortable seating for customers.

Goddess Note: Would have also liked some high-comfort yet more business-like seating options, but these were an acceptable substitute.

Page 11: Cherry Creations

No waiting in boredom here! This big-screen TV has all your Sims' favorite channels.

Goddess Note: I kind of wanted some end tables with books/magazine stacks, but without moveObjects, I couldn't really make it work well. There were a few places where I could, technically, put one (like the end of the sofa pictured), but they stuck out weirdly.

Page 12: Cherry Creations

A peek through the frosted glass on this office door will give you a glimpse of the main office for Cherry Creations.

Goddess Note: I actually like both this office entrance and this photo, except: that painting placement. Again, this is a place I might have used moveObjects – it's driving my OCD mad that I can't center that painting between the window and door frames.

Page 13: Cherry Creations

This cozy office is designed to make clients feel at home. Enjoy sitting in a comfortable arm chair while you get one-on-one attention from Pepper.

Goddess Note: THAT TREE THOUGH. Not moving it, because this isn't really an issue during game play, and I like where the tree is outside. I wish there was a way to prevent objects from going through walls like this, but I know it was a problem in the previous games as well.

Page 14: Cherry Creations

Princess Creepyface, I mean, Cordelia is silently judging you. Just ignore her, that's her thing.

Goddess Note: I honestly didn't realize this bust was so creepy when I placed it, but with limited bust/sculpture options, I left it even after taking this photo. I'm just going to have to deal with Princess Creepyface.

Page 15: Cherry Creations

Hang your hat (or coat) and stay a while! This office is equipped to make you feel at home.

Goddess Note: In hindsight, I'm not sure how good an idea candles below a coat rack are, but at least these seem to be just decoration? At least, they're not permanently lit like the candles I placed elsewhere in this build are.

Page 16: Cherry Creations

When the clients leave, this is where the work happens.

Goddess Note: And where binders magically stand on their own with a bookend on the wrong side, but there you go.

Page 17: Cherry Creations

Now it's time to head out to view the rest of the building!

Goddess Note: I was pleased the coat rack hung properly on this style of wall...very few of the decorations actually do. :/

Page 18: Cherry Creations

And behind Door #2...

Goddess Note: This is one of the places I was bemoaning the lack of door variety. I wanted a door that blended better with the office door but did not have a window in it, and there really wasn't a good fit. This is the best match for a professional-yet-private door I could find.

Page 19: Cherry Creations

...a creepy hallway. If this doesn't say, “Don't venture further,” then you're probably weird.

Goddess Note: I left a lot of blank space here intentionally; This will eventually be decorated with Pepper's paintings. I also wanted a window near the end of this hall, but the game kept telling me the window couldn't intersect with an object even before I hung the light fixtures, so I gave up on it. I later discovered I also can't hang paintings on that section of wall for the same reason.

Page 20: Cherry Creations

A peek through the doorway at the end of the hall, however, gives a glimpse of a much more inviting environment.

Goddess Note: This was an intentionally-designed effect. To better separate the home from the business, I made an off-putting corridor between the two. However, the first glimpse into the home is intended to be warm and inviting.

Page 21: Cherry Creations

As we round the corner, we get a look at the pleasant living and dining areas.

Goddess Note: This pseudo-shotgun style is a favorite design trick of mine – from this vantage point it's possible to see all the way through to the back yard, but it's not the direct, square view of an actual shotgun style home.

Page 22: Cherry Creations

This living room allows Pepper and her future family (and guests) to relax in luxury or just take a comfortable break from work.

Goddess Note: I normally have a terrible time with sitting/TV areas, but I was rather pleased with how this one came together. It's one of the benefits of an enormous area to work with.

Page 23: Cherry Creations

And behind these grand double doors...

Goddess Note: Or...not so grand. ^^; I'm letting my imagination do the work for me until better doors are added to the game or available through an EP.

Page 24: Cherry Creations

...is a grand bath room. Whether it's just a quick pit stop, a steamy shower, or a long, relaxing soak in a luxurious tub, this bath has your options available.

Goddess Note: I had the faintest idea going in how I wanted this L-shaped bath to work, and it turned out fantastic. Very pleased with this setup.

Page 25: Cherry Creations

Doesn't that look like a cozy place to settle in with a good book?

Goddess Note: I love-love-love these corner whirlpool baths in real life, so I was stoked to find one in the base game. If I didn't have cost restrictions in some challenges, I would use it in every build I did.

Page 26: Cherry Creations

Relax in style with a steamy shower or a decadent bath – your choice!

Goddess Note: I am so glad this tub/shower combo made a return. Now if only we can get CaSt back so I can change the color/pattern on it...

Page 27: Cherry Creations

A quiet nook for a bathroom break...

Goddess Note: I was a little nervous putting that narrow of a gap between the sink and mirror, but my Sims are able to navigate it fine. I've had no issues using this bathroom – it's actually my Sims' preferred one.

Page 28: Cherry Creations

...and it's time to head out to see the rest of the house.

Goddess Note: I really like the angle and perspective of this photo. It's one of the times cameraman mode worked out for me.

Page 29: Cherry Creations

Princess Cordelia is still silently judging you...or your art. At least here your practice work is away from the office, so those embarrassing non-perfect works aren't on public display.

Goddess Note: This turned out to be an ideal location for the easel, even though it DOES look like Cordelia is judging it. ^^;

Page 30: Cherry Creations

And...moving along before Princess Cordelia gets any creepier...

Goddess Note: I REALLY hope we get some more variety in bust sculptures in the future.

Page 31: Cherry Creations

The dining room features an elegant bar to relax at with friends...

Goddess Note: I actually like how this bar set-up worked out. I may have to use something similar in the future.

Page 32: Cherry Creations

...and a dining table to eat at with family.

Goddess Note: Again with my OCD and that wall décor placement. We really need moveObjects in this game.

Page 33: Cherry Creations

A full kitchen allows for the creation of any culinary creations a Sim desires.

Goddess Note: This is one of the places I'd like to use moveObjects to place small wall decorations, such as between the overhead cabinets and the countertops.

Page 34: Cherry Creations

The quick snack corner for late night goodies...

Goddess Note: Definitely want more color options for the front of the microwaves.

Page 35: Cherry Creations

A top end refrigerator keeps both fresh food and leftovers good for several days of enjoyment...

Goddess Note: The color options were pretty good for this item (compared to what others have), but I would have liked to tweak them a tad with a color chooser/CaSt.

Page 36: Cherry Creations

Be sure to grab a piece of fresh fruit on your way out of the kitchen! An apple a day, after all. :)

Goddess Note: The fruit bowl makes the end table essentially decoration rather than a functional item, but I'm okay with that.

Page 37: Cherry Creations

Don't forget to grab a hot beverage as well!

Goddess Note: One of the tweaks I'd like to be able to make on colors for most of the higher-end items is the electronic glow – it'd be nice to use white, green, red, etc for the glow color.

Page 38: Cherry Creations

Now it's time to head back to see the rest of the house!

Goddess Note: I did like the way these small paintings hang on this type of wall, but I wish there were more options. These mostly worked, but they're technically a bit “rustic” for the theme of the room.

Page 39: Cherry Creations

These slim, modern stairs are designed to blend into their surroundings; it's easy to forget they're there until you actually need them.

Goddess Note: It's hard to see in these photos – as it should be – but there actually IS a railing on both sets of these stairs. It's a transparent/translucent pane that runs between anchor poles at each end.

Page 40: Cherry Creations

Suddenly, we're in a segment of Super Mario Bros.

Goddess Note: The absolutely glaring brightness of this hall in cameraman mode took me by surprise; the walls are actually white and the carpet light green, but it became strangely distorted by sunlight coming in from the rooftop patio entrance. I wasn't sure I was going to leave the second floor halls like this, but after considering how it'll look with Pepper's paintings, I decided to keep it. YMMV.

Page 41: Cherry Creations

At the top of the stairs is another staircase, this one leading into the wild blue yonder!

Goddess Note: That actually IS sky this time, and not a “missing ceiling” glitch. The third floor is a rooftop patio, and I left the top of this staircase open intentionally. I would probably tweak it a bit if/when a Seasons EP is added to this game so rain wouldn't come in.

Page 42: Cherry Creations

And yet another creepy-yet-less-creepy hallway! We can't wait to see how Pepper dresses this one up!

Goddess Note: I love-love-love how the white works in this hall for the most part (the blue cast on the near wall is a bit weird, but...eh, shading. This is going to look fantastic with Pepper's art.

Page 43: Cherry Creations

This spacious, relaxing bath is a great place to kick back before bed or on a weekend morning.

Goddess Note: Reflections are turned off for the sake of not over-taxing my ancient system; the space effect of this bathroom is really amped up with that huge three-panel mirror for people who are able to play on full High or Ultra graphics. The blue point in the ceiling is a roof artifact...I wasn't really able to do anything about it.

Page 44: Cherry Creations

Tiny bursts of red really pop in this mostly green and white layout.

Goddess Note: This is another place CaSt would have been handy for small but important tweaks in color.

Page 45: Cherry Creations

Take advantage of a cozy bath robe following a relaxing bath!

Goddess Note: The black on the sink really sticks out in the corner here, but I didn't care for any of the other options better. I may still keep dinking with it, but right now, that's the sink style I'm sticking with.

Page 46: Cherry Creations

Let's take a step through the side door...

Goddess Note: I was looking for a more seamless door style, but this was once again the best option. I didn't have the bookshelf door unlocked yet.

Page 47: Cherry Creations

...into the study. Pepper's taking some of her down time for personal projects.

Goddess Note: This study can be converted into a second bedroom for a child or guests if needed, since Pepper DOES have a desk/office space on the first floor.

Page 48: Cherry Creations

Enjoy a good book in this comfortable living chair, or kick back with a computer game.

Goddess Note: I would have DEFINITELY painted this side of the door to match the walls if we had the ability to.

Page 49: Cherry Creations

And now, let's continue on back into the hall...

Goddess Note: This door is the same story as the other one – that white really, really jumps out here and could stand to be toned down.

Page 50: Cherry Creations

And finally, this lonely door at the end of the hall leads to...

Goddess Note: This photo ended up really weird, but it was the best angle I could get. I think it's because of the narrow width of the hall and the weird shading.

Page 51: Cherry Creations

The master bedroom! When it's time to call it a night, Pepper retires in pseudo-modern splendor.

Goddess Note: I was really aiming for a lot of white with red accents and pops of green here. It worked out pretty well, considering the color options available on various items. The blue thing on the ceiling is another roof artifact.

Page 52: Cherry Creations

A comfortable bed framed by plush curtains and a scenic view.

Goddess Note: Of all the base game items, I really do love this bed.

Page 53: Cherry Creations

Pepper's pop inspiration is on display for those privileged enough to visit her bedroom.

Goddess Note: I love this poster, but I wish there was a framed option. Also: My poor OCD. T___T I just want to be able to center pictures. T__T

Page 54: Cherry Creations

The other bedroom window offers a view of the mansion across the way.

Goddess Note: Keep those telescopes to yourselves, yo. D: LOL I kind of like how perfectly the neighbor's house sits in the window in this view.

Page 55: Cherry Creations

Being surrounded by luxury while practicing social skills, calming down or getting dressed means this mirror fits in perfectly.

Goddess Note: At this point my OCD had lost it, so I just placed wall art as the game would let me. .____.

Page 56: Cherry Creations

A selection of books is available for light bed-time reading.

Goddess Note: I DO love this bookshelf and how it sits on the wall, however.

Page 57: Cherry Creations

These elegant storage options leave plenty of space for those designer clothes!

Goddess Note: Yes, they technically serve the same function, but I liked how they worked together decoratively. It also keeps one Sim from hogging the dresser if/when Pepper finds a significant other.

Page 58: Cherry Creations

A little active inspiration never hurt any Sim.

Goddess Note: I really do love the poster options, but again...not everyone who hangs posters as art is 12 years old. :|

Page 59: Cherry Creations

And now we return to the staircase at the end of the hall for a journey to the roof!

Goddess Note: Off we go, into the wild, blue yonder...this photo just really makes me LOL on so many levels for how bad it is...I had to reuse it for this transition. XD

Page 60: Cherry Creations

Welcome to the Cherry Creations rooftop patio!

Goddess Note: Hey, I remembered railings this time! Now it looks less precarious walking toward the edge of the roof. XD

Page 61: Cherry Creations

Plenty of lush greenery adorns this patio.

Goddess Note: This is a really tight corner, and cameraman mode doesn't do it justice. It's such a neat corner to follow Pepper and other Sims through when I'm in-game.

Page 62: Cherry Creations

In addition to the pre-purchased plants, there is plenty of planter space for Pepper to grow her own patio plants from seed.

Goddess Note: I like being able to mix up the plants in the planters, which is why they're not pre-planted.

Page 63: Cherry Creations

You must bring us...a shrubbery!

Goddess Note: A shrubbery?

Page 64: Cherry Creations

Relax in quiet splendor with this nook bench.

Goddess Note: This is probably, hands-down, my favorite part of the rooftop patio. Everything lined up absolutely perfectly.

Page 65: Cherry Creations

A second bench provides space for guests to sit and chat.

Goddess Note: I have to admit, even on the custom Medium settings I'm using, the backgrounds/neighborhoods are gorgeous.

Page 66: Cherry Creations

Dine in casual elegance with this bistro table and barbecue grill! Just don't set the roof on fire, please.

Goddess Note: The roof...the roof...the roof is on fire! We don't need no water let the...okay, I really should have probably rethought this, considering Sims' aptitude for setting the barbecue grills on fire. It's all but guaranteed this roof will be on fire at some point. .___.

Page 67: Cherry Creations

Don't get distracted by the gorgeous view while you're grilling!

Goddess Note: LOOK AT THIS VIEW. LOOK AT IT. THIS VIEW.

Page 68: Cherry Creations

Now it's time to head downstairs again for a look at the ground floor patio and yard.

Goddess Note: I wanted double glass doors here, but it just wasn't happening with my layout. This one works okay.

Page 69: Cherry Creations

This outdoor sanctuary with its guard ankle-biters is destined to be the final resting place for Pepper's future family, as well as Pepper herself one day.

Goddess Note: I pretty much always have a private graveyard/mausoleum in my residential builds. There's actually a huge willow tree in the back corner that overhangs this cemetery space, but it wouldn't show up in this view. In-game, it looks amazing.

Page 70: Cherry Creations

For casual neighborhood parties, this eating area is accompanied by an ultra-modern fountain and overlooked by majestic cherry trees.

Goddess Note: The three cherry trees in the back corner didn't show up for the same reason the willow tree didn't show up. I was really disappointed.

Page 71: Cherry Creations
Page 72: Cherry Creations

Be careful not to fall in the fountain while walking and texting!

Goddess Note: Not sure if that can actually happen to Sims, but it is the subject of several hilarious YouTube vids. XD

Page 73: Cherry Creations

Eat or relax in the shade of cherry blossoms.

Goddess Note: This is a place where the scene is completely different with the trees visible and the shadows from them falling on the ground/objects. The terrain paint shows where the bases of the trees are.

Page 74: Cherry Creations

This backyard patio is just enclosed enough to feel cozy.

Goddess Note: I used terrain paints rather than actual tile here to give the impression of patio edges that are natural stone and starting to become slightly overgrown by the yard. In real life, it can be more maintenance to do that, but it also looks more natural.

Page 75: Cherry Creations

A few small garden boxes allow Pepper to customize the plants in her yard seasonally.

Goddess Note: Like the planters on the roof, these aren't pre-planted. It allows gardening skill building and plant customization.

Page 76: Cherry Creations

A quiet garden nook provides a meditative retreat.

Goddess Note: Also, zombie-proofing for the possibility of future EP zombie additions. Got SO sick of zombies eating my gardens in Sims 3 that fencing my gardens became a matter of habit.

Page 77: Cherry Creations

A close-up view reveals fresh, tidy garden boxes ready for planting.

Goddess Note: These are a little cleaner and more symmetrical than the box outside the fencing to keep with the “meditation garden” aspect.

Page 78: Cherry Creations

Moving along the side of the lot to the front of the house...

Goddess Note: The tall grass is on the neighboring lot; this side area is basically wide enough to walk along, and that's it.

Page 79: Cherry Creations

The neighbors' mansions seem to be a bit less...colorful than Pepper's.

Goddess Note: Ha ha! Eat it, stuffy rich neighbors! I just tanked your property value with my obnoxious house! XD

Page 80: Cherry Creations

Visitors approaching from the side are treated to no less a splendid view than those who approach from the street.

Goddess Note: I really do like this view as well. This would be epic to see while walking down the sidewalk.

Page 81: Cherry Creations

Spared no expense! Mail delivery personnel are treated to an amazing custom fountain.

Goddess Note: Really hope the mail person appreciates this ridiculously elaborate custom fountain...it's basically invisible except from this angle. ^^; Also note the tree that sticks into Pepper's office.

Page 82: Cherry Creations

Looking down this side of the lot shows a view that blends beautifully with the neighboring lot.

Goddess Note: It was kind of an accident that this lot blended so well. Willow trees are plentiful in this neighborhood, but I was really focused only on my own lot while building. The willow tree on this lot was intended to shade and help seclude the cemetery space.

Page 83: Cherry Creations

As we head out, let's take one more look into the back yard!

Goddess Note: This is the closest place the cherry trees are visible from in cameraman mode; note how the willow tree has disappeared again, because the camera is too close to it.

Page 84: Cherry Creations
Page 85: Cherry Creations

Bonus Slide!

Goddess Note: The first person Pepper ran into was Don Lothario, and they immediately struck up a friendship. This slide is a bit dark (they talked quite late into the night), but it happens to also be a good perspective on how Pepper might sit with a customer to discuss design plans.
