Remediation• In 2004, a large project
commenced to provide topsoil for
the lakefront park using dried mud
from the bottom of Lake Peoria in
downstate IL.
• Backwater sedimentation was big
issue in the Peoria Lakes, a
dredging program eligible for
federal funding was difficult.
• DPD was previously awarded $5M
for work at the SW site, $1.4M of
that amount was used to transport
105,000 tons of wet Peoria Lakes
sediment into the SW site.
