“blind.”
Itisessentialthatlisteningtoallexcerpts(recordingsorvideosoffullorchestra/wind
ensemble)becomesapartofyourpreparation.Pleasecarefullystudyterms,tempi,rhythms,
articulations,dynamicsandphrasing,inadditiontopracticingtechnicalandexpressiveaspects.
Pleaserememberthatpracticingfundamentals(tonecolor,stability,intonation,clarityof
response,scales,endurance,etc.)andapplyingthemtoexcerptsiscrucialforyourbestplaying
quality.AstudyguidewillbesenttoJMUStudioMembersinJune.
