Dear reader,
Central America is gaining in popularity for business and adventure travel and it has something for everyone: From surfing in the Pacific, and from rainforest lodges to fine resorts in colonial cities.
Guatemala, for instance, is home to one of the finest colonial cities in Central America, Antigua. Tiny but rich in culture and nature, English-speaking Belize is great for snorkeling or diving on the second biggest barrier reef in the world, spotting jaguars, kayaking down jungle rivers or just relaxing on the Caribbean beaches. A must-do here is a visit to the Mayan archaeological sites. El Salvador is also tiny but hugely scenic country since it features great mountain formations and quaint colonial towns with an arty feel. Honduras is a vibrant and fascinating place with an enormous amount of nature and fun to offer. Attractions here include the archeological site of Copan, the pristine diving of the Bay Islands and the appealing scenery of its many and well-preserved national parks. Need to say more? This marvelous destination is ready to amaze your senses!
Sincerely,
Jose-Manuel (Manolo) GARCIA, CIS

Itz’ana Belize Resort & Residences
Located in Placencia, a quiet strip of land on the Caribbean coast, Belize Itz’ana is one of the
many new luxury projects coming soon to this country. Named after the Mayan god of Day and
Night, Itz’ana is being built in a quaint coastal village. There will be two sizes of villas to

residences. Both types of villas will have access to a private island as well as to a full service
marina. The resort section will be available for guests late 2016.
Itz’ana creates a cross between Mayan and modern. With close proximity to the islands,
beaches, jungles, rivers and caves, guests could be one with nature while enjoying all the fine
amenities Itz’ana has to offer. On the beach side or Great House you will find Limilia
Restaurant serving just-caught seafood and local favorites. It has a rooftop bar, a Rum Room
available for private tastings of the Caribbean’s best
rum and a rooftop yoga deck. Other amenities
include a library and a gift shop. Located beachfront
there is an over-water deck featuring a 150 ft. long
swimming pool.
Finally on the lagoon side, Harbor House, lies a
watersports adventure center, conference and event
facilities, a spa that uses locally sourced rainforest
botanicals for Mayan inspired treatments completed

Tomato Bruschetta
Preparation:
Ingredients:
2 cups diced tomato
20 basil leaves
1/4 cup diced onion
2 garlic cloves
1 baguette
Olive oil (about 1/6 cup)
Salt
Pepper
Caramelized balsamic vinegar
Block of parmesan cheese
Fun Fact: Do you know what’s in season in March?
Asparagus
Artichoke Scotch Kale Chervil
Dice the tomatoes and onion. Mince the garlic. Chop the basil. Combine in a bowl. Drizzle in the
olive oil. Add salt and pepper to taste. Lightly toss, be gentle so as not to mash the tomatoes. Slice
the baguette (toast the slices, if so desired). Place the baguette slices on individual appetizer sized
plates, top with the Bruschetta, drizzle the caramelized balsamic vinegar as shown in the picture
above. Lastly garnish the top with freshly shredded parmesan cheese. Bon appetite!

Examine the new tag being placed on your luggage. If it doesn’t have the three-letter code
of your destination, your bag is not going where you’re going. PDX (Portland, Oregon) looks
similar to PHX (Phoenix, Arizona) but, as you know, they are no where near each other. If
you don’t have the various destination codes, ask the airline for the specific code when you
book your flight.
Make sure you receive a baggage claim check for each piece of luggage checked. Count
the claim checks in front of the handler.
Your airline ticket may limit or exclude liability for the loss of such items as cameras, cash,
or jewelry. If you are traveling with valuables, carry them with you. Prior to your trip, call your
insurance agent to make sure that what you plan to take on the trip is covered by at least
one of your existing insurance policies.
If your bag doesn't show up on the luggage carousel, make sure you fill out a claim form
before you leave the airport and get a receipt!
