WIND TURBINES Hydropower Technical services are the technical partner to DragonFly Wind Turbine manufacturers.
Dragonfly Power Nig Ltd, is the joint venture company between Magnifique Integrated Concept Ltd Nigeria
and Dragonfly Industries International LLC, Dallas Texas saddled with the propriety rights and mandate to
manufacture all Dragonfly generation plants in Nigeria for Magnifique. We intend to develop wind turbine
generation plants in various locations across Nigeria using the Dragonfly technology.
Dragonfly wind turbines an innovative technology which is a vast step up from conventional wind turbine
generators.
Dragonfly wind turbines are much more efficient, smaller and quieter than the existing systems available.
They are less susceptible to low or high winds and the design provides a system that is easier to maintain
and occupies a much smaller footprint requiring only 2 hectares of land for 10 MW.
The diagram below shows the units in the raised and lowered positions. The larger shadow
compares the height of Dragonfly to a conventional Wind Turbine.
Each tower comprises of 2 x 1 MW turbines and these are providing power to a base station which
performs all the switching and controls. Output of the tower is 33kV and can be connected directly to
existing distribution or stepped up to 132 kV for connection to the national grid or stepped down for local
400V power. The system can be utilised for Captive Power, Embedded Power or Grid Power.
2 MW towers can be utilised together to make a larger output Wind Farm and is only limited by the capacity
of the evacuation Point and available size of land.
The 1 MW turbines are not adversely affected by low or high wind speeds and can actually generated up to
300% power output at higher wind speeds. This is demonstrated in the graph below and also shows the
point where conventional wind turbines have to be shut down to avoid serious damage
We are able to offer the whole package from concept to completion including sourcing of funding and
operation/maintenance of the finished plant.
