Preventing an Unnecessary Life Loss
CPR & AED
Preventing an Unnecessary Life LossHave you ever witnessed a family member,
friend, colleague or even a stranger collapse right in front of you and stop breathing?
What did you do?Was he saved? Did he completely recover?Did you know you could have saved his life?It takes a cool head, steady hands, and most
importantly the right training to have saved his life.
Preventing an Unnecessary Life LossYou have no more than 4 minutes to act.88% of cardiac arrests happen outside of
hospital premises92% of these die before reaching a hospitalLess than 4% of those who reach a hospital
make it unharmed.75% of those suffering a sudden cardiac
arrest survive unharmed if arrest is witnessed by a trained person (that is, you could have saved 3 out of 4 lives if you only knew how)
Preventing an Unnecessary Life Loss
Do you know that in case of a cardiac arrest, if the
correct action is taken within:0 to 4 minutes = Full recovery 4 to 6 minutes = Possible Damage6 to 8 minutes = Probable Damage8 to 10 minutes = Vegetative State (Brain
Death)More than 10 minutes = Physical Death
FACT
Preventing an Unnecessary Life LossWhat is cardiac arrest?A cardiac arrest is when the heart suddenly stops
beating. A person with a cardiac arrest collapses, stops
breathing and doesn’t react to your voice or touch. The victim may or may not have diagnosed heart
disease. The time and mode of death are unexpected. It occurs
instantly or shortly after symptoms appear.Cardiac arrest is a silent killer that could attack a family
member, co-worker or a friend anywhere at any age without any symptoms or history of health problems.
Preventing an Unnecessary Life LossWhat is CPR?CPR stands for Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation. Proper CPR is performed with alternating chest
compressions with mouth-to-mouth breathing. This process helps push oxygen into the lungs so that it can
go to the brain and keep a person alive. CPR can provide the means to keep a person alive long
enough to receive professional medical attention. What is AED? An Automated External Defibrillator (AED) is a portable
device that checks the heart rhythm and can send an electric shock to the heart to try to restore a normal rhythm.

Preventing an Unnecessary Life Loss
How can we help? Most cardiac arrests occur in homes and public places,
and many are witnessed by a family member, co-worker or friend.
The survival rate of cardiac arrest outside a hospital is very low.
Performing CPR and using an AED before Emergency Medical Services arrive can increase the chance of survival by up to 75%.
The first few minutes after the arrest are the most important and are the lifesaving moments.
We can show you how you can save a life.
