Creating Shortcuts to programs
Many programs create their own desktop shortcuts when installed.
A desktop icon with an arrow is a shortcut to a program somewhere else on the computer.
If there is no arrow, then the item or program is only located on the desktop.
If a program does not have an icon on the desktop, then it is probably accessible through the Start Menu.
To create a shortcut, navigate to the program – Start, Program files, then find the program. Right click on the program name, then pick Send To, Desktop (create shortcut).
Right Click
You can also create a shortcut by right-clicking on an empty part of the desktop and picking new shortcut. You have to know or browse to the path of the program or file.
1. Right Click on desktop
2. Select NEW, Shortcut
3. Enter the location of the program or BROWSE to find it.
