Blu-Surf Inc. designs and manufactures a strippingsystem for the removal of cured hydrocarbon coatingsfrom hooks, racks, fixtures, and parts. Removal of acoating is accomplished by heating the materials to bestripped to 650 to 750'F. The coating is reduced to afine, light ash and fumes. The fumes produced arevented through an afterburner chamber, which raisesthe fume temperatures to 1,400'F or higher for aminimum of one-half second. The resultant effluentdischarged to atmosphere consists of water vapor andcarbon dioxide.

After painting, a pallet of parts is loaded onto the ovenbelt conveyor. The oven air-operated vertical-lift door,for conserving energy, is opened and the pallet is auto•matically loaded onto the oven conveyor and into thecure oven for drying. The oven is electrically heated andis equipped with high-velocity air nozzles for fasterdrying and greater efficiency. After drying, the palletexits from the far end, which is also equipped with anair-operated vertical-lift door.
