Curriculum Vitae

Esther Kuhry was born on January 13th, 1976 in

Amsterdam, The Netherlands. After graduating from high

school at the Huygens Lyceum in Voorburg in 1994, she

attended medical school at the University of Leiden. In

November 2002, she obtained her medical degree cum

laude. In 2003 and 2004, she had a research position

at the Department of General Surgery of the Erasmus

Medical Center in Rotterdam, The Netherlands (Prof.dr.

H.J. Bonjer and Prof.dr. J. Jeekel). During this period of

time she was responsible for the coordination of the COlon

cancer Laparoscopic or Open Resection (COLOR) trial. She

worked at the Accident and Emergency Department of the

Erasmus Medical Center, The Netherlands during the first

half of 2005. After this, she moved to Trondheim, Norway

and in August 2005 she started her surgical residency at

the Department of General Surgery of Namsos Hospital,

Helse Nord-Trøndelag HF, Norway (dr. R. Gaupset).
