JAMMU, Oct 8: Two fraud-sters decamped with 9 tolas goldfrom a house in Maheshpura area,falling under the jurisdiction ofBakshi Nagar police station.

As per police sources, twopersons entered into a house atMaheshpura area of BakshiNagar owned by Dwarka NathSangra, son of Ram LalSangra.

The persons termed them-selves as salesmen of a reputedcompany, which offers cleansingof gold ornaments.

To gain the confidence, thepersons cleansed the ring of theowner of the house with some liq-uid. Later, he (house owner)offered them all the gold orna-

ments weighing around 9 tolas forcleansing.

The fraudsters put the goldornaments in a utensil and sprayedsome liquid like material in it.They asked Dwarka Nath to boilthe ornaments and open it whenthe water cools down.

When the owner of the houseopened the utensil, he found thegold ornaments missing and real-ized that he was befooled by theself-styled salesmen.

He reported the matter toconcerned police station andafter registering a case underFIR Number 126/15 underSection 420 and 34 RPC, policelaunched manhunt to nab thefraudsters.

However, no arrest was madetill last reports were compiled.

UDHAMPUR, Oct 8: TheNSS Unit of GCW, Udhampurorganized a symposium on thetopic "My Vote My Right" whichcomes under the Umbrella con-cept of SVEEP (systematic vot-ers' education and electoral par-ticipation). The programmebegan with the welcome addressby Prof. Swarna Bhougal, NSSProgramme Officer GCW,Udhampur.

The programme formallybegan with the lightning of tra-ditional lamp by the chief guestof the occasion Prof. K.SKoushal Principal, GCW,Udhampur.

Speaking on the topic, chiefguest , emphasized that casting

vote is the fundamental duty of thecitizens.

In all there were 10 partici-pants who spoke on the topic var-iedly. All of them stressed uponeducating the people for castingtheir vote. Ms. Parul Oberoibagged 1st prize, Ms. Aniksha andMs. Shivya got 2nd and 3rd prizesrespectively.

Girls students from differentclasses participated in the contestin which the first, second andthird prizes went to Kajal of class

11th, Palvi of class 11th andMehak of class 12th respectively.

District Information OfficerDoda (Nodal Officer SVEEP)Anoop Kumar, Tehsildar DodaNasir Ali besides senior lecturersof the institution also spoke onthe topic.

Tehsildar Doda apprised thata special camp for the registrationof school children will be organ-ized in GHSS (Girls) Doda whereon spot forms of the eligible vot-ers will be filled for their registra-tion in the rolls.

Awareness was also impart-ed to the participating studentsregarding the ongoing processof special summary revision andthey were appealed to educateand sensitize their near and dearones so that they come out andregister themselves as voters.Light was also thrown on thevarious forms to be filled foraddition, deletion, correctionand transposition of their namesin electoral roll and the formali-ties to be submitted for thesame.

97 Bn BSF holds blood donation campExcelsior Correspondent

SAMBA, Oct 8: The 97 Bn BSF Samba organised a voluntaryblood donation camp along with Civic Action Programme atGovernment Primary School Gujar Chak, near Border Post KotheSamba.

The programme was chaired by Ashok Kumar, Commandant of 97Bn BSF along with special invited Guest Dr Arun Sharma MedicalSuperintendent Government District Hospital Samba. Scores of peopleand students from the border area villages participated in the programme.

Jawans from 97 Bn BSF Samba and few civilians participated inthe Voluntary Blood Donation and about 50 bottles of blood werecollected. For this blood camp a team from Government GandhiNagar Hospital Jammu which is mother bank for District HospitalSamba was specially deputed for this camp along with a special vehi-cle for storage of blood bags.

KATHUA, Oct 8: In continua-tion to drive launched by theDistrict Police Kathua to nab thedrug peddlers, acting on specificinformation a Police Party of P/SLakhanpur today nabbed two drugpeddlers along with contrabandnarcotic material during the past 24hours.

They arrested drug peddlersare Varun Verma S/o Narotam LalR/o Hatli Morh and Kapil Dev S/oGurdayal R/o Karooh Lakhanpur.They were nabbed along with con-traband narcotic material near NewRavi Bridge Lakhanpur, FIR No.79/2015 u/s 8/20 NDPS and80/2015 u/s 8/21 NDPS respec-tively stands registered at PoliceStation Lakhanpur. The drive hasbeen carried out under the supervi-sion of SP Kathua, Neeva Jain.

‘JJSRC committed to reconstruction of shrine’Excelsior Correspondent

JAMMU, Oct 8: Jawala JiShrine ReconstructionCommittee (JJSRC) today saidthat it is committed to recon-struct the holy Shrine with thehelp of the general public.

In a statement issued here,today it said that theReconstruction Committee hascome into being on the basis of acollaborative effort by J&KDharmarth Trust, Jawala JiSamiti Khrew, Kashmir andsome Kashmiri Pandit organiza-tions for the re-construction ofthe holy shrine which is the pre-siding deity of Kashmiri Hindus.

The four member committeecomprising of Maj Gen (retd) RS Jamwal, president J&KDharmarth Trust Council, M KRaina president Jawala JiSamiti, Khrew, Kashmir, Prof RL Bhat of Jawala Ji SamitiKhrew Kashmir and R L Bhan,Additional secretary, J KDharmarth Trust.

The statement said the aimof the Committee is to involvethe various stake holders in thereconstruction of the Shrine in

its original pristine glory. It saidthe Construction Committee hasstarted the work in last weekSeptember this year and animpression is being created thatboth Trust and Jawala Ji Samitiare doing nothing for the recon-struction of the Shrine which isnot fact.

The statement said the con-struction of the shrine needs ahuge amount and the work start-ed by one devotee may not bemore than 1/10th of the totalproject.

The statement said thatCommittee welcomes everyindividual who comes forwardin the noble task but will notaccept any attempt made by anyindividual for the personnelfame.

It further appealed the publicthat the donations for the recon-struction of the Shrine be madeonly in the bank account ofJawala Ji Shrine ReconstructionCommittee (SBI A/C No32238653745 with IFS CodeSBIN0000657 at SBI HariMarket Jammu and not to anyother individual or organization.
