why I’m the man for thankyou
I am a qualified Graphic Artist with varied experience ranging from News Corp (Brisbane) in a large design team to a nation-wide bookstore as a standalone designer.
I thoroughly enjoyed working as solo designer and having the responsilbility for the end to end design of the monthly catalogues however I knew that there was more to experience in the design industry and my feet got itchy.
In addition to my knowledge and experience in the design industry I have gained a comprehensive understanding of Social Media management and layout design for covers, features and catalogues.
My roles have given me opportunities of responsibility for end-to-end monthly catalogue design and POS material as well as management of digital content through eDMs and the company website. I am mindful of tight deadlines and work well within these parameters whilst adhering to strict brand guidelines. I am self-motivated and organised ensuring I am kept up to date on local and modern trends in a fast paced, constantly changing industry.
I am passionate about the design industry as a whole and find great personal and professional accomplishment in supporting wider business needs. I take responsibility in owning projects through to their fruition to achieve the best possible results.
Why you believe you should be the next Thankyou Creative Assistant?I know I should be the next creative assistant at Thankyou due to the creative nature of my work history and personal passion for design (as well as my passionate love for anything matte black). I love titles being in capitals and clean space on labels. This is the true Thankyou way.
When you are the most creative and when you are the least creative; what hinders creativity for you?I am most creative when I can relate and collaborate with other designers and creatives on projects. I would honestly say my creativity is hindered when ideas and concepts aren’t freely encouraged before reaching the final artwork; let’s talk and discuss ideas.
What inspires you to create? I am inspired when I see other designs that I don’t fully understand right away. The type of design of a product, poster or other artwork that the designer in me can’t stop looking at until I can wrap my head around how they achieved that end result.
How your best friend would describe you?My best friend would describe me as creative, passionate and loyal (and not just because that sounds good here...).

1. Magazine feature layout.
2. Catalogue layout and design. The included example is from my work at Word Bookstores which had a subscriber base of approx. 45000 Australia wide.
3. Multiple cover designs for up to 15 unique local weekly newspapers throughout Queensland.
4. Cover design for yearly product magazine published by SIGMA.
5. New restaurant Menu design for a freelance client wanting a more creative, engaging and photographic menu.
6. Complete website redesign with larger banner display and product placement. This was done in consultation with the Co-CEO’s of the company.
7. EDM design. Weekly EDM to over 50,000 recipents (at Word Bookstores) and counltesss more for the Amcal, Amcal Max and Guardian brands.
