wondering which year levels the new Primary teachers will be teaching, or who in fact will be teaching your
child next year, a reminder that this information is sent to parents just prior to the start of Term 1. It is at
this time that we invite parents to attend the Meet the Teacher Day, which is set for Monday 6 August,
2018.
Kind regards,
Dr Stuart Tasker

This April Year 5 went to Camp Kawepe for 4 days as part of our Sharing The Planet

time was had by all, with the highlight being the swimming pool and the amazing
food, which is all organic and grown at camp.
On the second week of term 4, the Year 4 students went camping at Taman Safari for 3 days 2 nights. They had a blast on the ropes course

April: Balanced
Balanced students understand the importance of intellectual, physical and emotional balance to achieve personal well-being for themselves and others. They recognize their interdependence with other people and the world in which we live. What area of your life needs some balance?
May: Open-minded
Being open-minded means that we appreciate and respect other cultures and individuals, regardless of their beliefs, values, and traditions. We seek and value a range of points of view, and are willing to grow from the experience. How will you be open-minded this month?
Singapore Theatre Trip
On Thursday 12 April, parents were invited for a coffee morning in the staffroom to discuss numeracy in the PYP. The session was hosted by Jennifer Kesler and Darren Aitchison. We were happy to have about 20 interested and eager parents attend, and it was fascinating to hear their own preconceptions and opinions about mathematics.
Numeracy PES PYP Coffee Morning Many parents joined us to hear more about the PYP Self-Study, a practice where the PYP staff evaluates ourselves against the IB Standards & Practices and reflects on future actions that need to be taken. Our PYP Evaluation visit is scheduled for 22-24 October 2018, and we will involve parents and students through interviews with the visitors.
On the first week of Term 4, our Year 9 students attended a
theatre trip to Singapore. They have been studying the realistic
fiction novel, ‘The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-
time’, and had the opportunity to watch the British National
Theatre’s award-winning production.
