Heat Exchangers Ametek, Chemical Products Div. Wilmington, Del.

Ametek Supercoil Heat Exchangers are designed for heating and cooling in a wide range of metal-finishing applications. The heat exchangers come in lengths from 3 to 16 ft with 100 to 280 tubes of FEP or Q-Series resins. Well-known, nonstick characteristics of Teflon resist corrosion and fouling; high electrical resistance minimizes effects of stray electrical currents in plating tanks. The heat exchangers are available with heat trans- fer areas ranging from 6.5 to 113 ft2. These high- efficiency immersion coils are ideal for electroplating, electroforming, and electroless plating baths; and acidic and alkaline solutions for etching, chemical milling, anodizing, cleaning, stripping, and electropolishing op- erations.

Evaporative Coolers Rapid Engineering inc. Comstock Park, Mich.

Rapid Engineering Inc. now manufactures evapora- tive coolers. This space comfort system can save the customer up to 70% on initial costs and up to 90% on operating costs. The concept+xtracting heat from warmer outdoor air by passing that air through a wetted media-is economical and ecologically safe, effective in humid climates, and is able to alleviate heat problems.

Deionized Water Heaters Fluidix Inc. Mammoth lakes, Calif.

The SX and TX Series heaters from Fluidix offer a low-cost alternative to all fluoropolymer designs where water-purity requirements are not as stringent. These direct-heating, electric units are available in instanta- neous-heating and reservoir versions in all standard voltages up to 240 kW or 20 gpm. Controls include digitally indicated PID controller with process alarms and a full complement of safety systems. Fluidix also offers steam and heating-water powered units in the same materials.
