To hang the photo frame on the wall

1 Prepare commercially available screws suitable for the holes on the rear of the unit.

2 Drive the screws (commercially available) into the wall.Makesurethescrewsprotrude2.5mmto3mm(approx.1/8inch)fromthesurfaceofthewall.

3 Hang the photo frame on the wall by fitting the screw head through the hole on the rear of the unit.

Usescrewssuitedforthewallmaterial.Thescrewsmaybedamaged,dependingonthetypeofmaterialusedinthewall.Drive

thescrewstothestudinthewallorapillar.Firmlytightenthescrewstopreventthephotoframefromfalling.Whenyouwanttoreinsertthememorycard,removethephotoframefromthewall,thenejectandreinsertthememorycard

whilethephotoframeislyingonastablesurface.Removethestandbeforehangingthephotoframeonthewall.ConnecttheDCcableoftheACadaptortothephotoframeandhangthephotoframeonthewall.ThenplugtheACadaptorto

thewalloutlet.Sonytakesnoresponsibilityforanyaccidentsordamagecausedbyimproperattachment,misuse,naturaldisasters,etc.Whilethephotoframeismountedonthewall,itmayfallifyouusebuttonsonit.Supportitcarefullysoasnottodropit.

Turning on the photo frameConnecting the AC adaptor

Connect the AC adaptor as illustrated below.Thephotoframeisautomaticallyturnedon.

When using the photo frame for the first timeProceedto“Settingupthephotoframe”.Ifyouhavenotoperatedthephotoframeforanextendedperiodoftime,thedemonstrationdisplaybegins.If the initial settings have been already madeProceedto“Let’sUsethePhotoFrame”.

Turning on/off the photo frame

To turn the photo frame onPress(on/standby).

To turn the photo frame offHold(on/standby)presseduntilthepoweristurnedoff.

ConnecttheACadaptortoaneasilyaccessiblewalloutletcloseby.Iftroubleoccurswhileusingtheadaptor,immediatelyshut

offthepowerbyunpluggingtheACadaptorfromthewalloutlet. Ifyouwillnotbeusingthephotoframeforalongtime,press(on/standby)toturntheunitoffafteruse,thendisconnectthe

ACadaptorfromtheDCINjackontheunitandunplugtheACadaptorfromthewalloutlet.Donotshort-circuittheplugoftheACadaptorwithametalobject.Doingsomaycauseamalfunction.DonotusetheACadaptorplacedinanarrowspace,suchasbetweenawallandfurniture.DonotdisconnecttheACadaptorfromthephotoframewhilethephotoframeison.Doingsomaydamagethephotoframe.ThesuppliedACadaptorisforexclusiveusewiththisphotoframe.Itcannotbeusedwithotherequipment.

Setting up the photo frameBeforeusingthephotoframeforthefirsttime,maketheinitialsettings,followingtheinstructionsonthescreen.Thesettingscanbechangedlater.

1 Press [MENU].Theinitialsettingdisplayappears.Movetheblueboxwith/toselectanitemthenpress[ENTER]tosetit.Thecurrentsettingisunderlinedinyellow.

2 Set the date. Set the year, month, and day with / then press [ENTER].

Presstoselecttheyear,monthordaythenpress[ENTER].Correctthenumberwith/thenpress[ENTER].

Press to select at lower right on the display then press [ENTER].

Thedisplayformatforthedateisselectable.

3 Set the time in the same operation of date setting in step 2. Set the hour, minute, and second, using / and [ENTER], respectively. Press to select at lower right on the display then press [ENTER].

Let’s Use the Photo Frame

Enjoying a slideshowInsert a memory card or USB memory.InsertmemorycardorUSBmemoryfirmlyintothecorrespondingslotwithitslabelsidefacingawayfromthescreen.Playbackautomaticallybeginsandimagesonthememorycardaredisplayedoneafteranotherasaslideshow.

Have the label of memory cards facing outward

Ifmultiplememorycardareinsertedintothememorycardslots/,thephotoframewillnotworkproperly.

alreadybeeninserted,theimagesfromthelatterinsertedwillbedisplayed.

To pause the slideshow (Single view)Press[ENTER].Thepreviousornextimagecanbedisplayedwith/.Toresumetheslideshow,press[ENTER]again.

To remove the memory card Press [MENU] to activate the menu display. Remove the memory card from its slot in the opposite direction from which it was inserted.

TheclockdisplaywillappeariftheDemonstrationmodesettingissetto[OFF].

Duringaslideshow,donotremovethememorycard.Doingsomaydamgethedatarecortedinthemamorycard.

Changing the view modeYoucanchangetheslideshowviewstyleortheclockstyle,orchangetotheindeximagedisplay.

3 Press / to select the desired slideshow view style then press [ENTER].

Photo Interval

Switchesimagesatashortinterval(approximately10seconds).

Switchesimagesatamoderateinterval(approximately30seconds).

Switchesimagesatalonginterval(approximately60seconds).

Display mode

Displaysanentireimageonthescreen.(Someimagemaybedisplayedwithblackmarginsatthetop,bottom,leftandright.)

Displaysanimageontheentirescreenbypartiallytrimmingtheborderswithoutchangingtheaspectratio.

Effect

Centercross:Transitionstothenextimageasthoughthepreviousimagewerebeingpushedfromthecentertothefourcorners.

Blind(vertically):Transitionstothenextimageasthoughblindswerebeingloweredvertically.

Blind(holizontally):Transitionstothenextimageasthoughblindswerebeingpulledhorizontally.

Fade:Transitionstothenextimagebyfadingthecurrentimageoutandfadingthenextimagein.

Wipe:Transitionstothenextimageasthoughthecurrentimagewerebeingwipedoffthescreentorevealthenextimage.

Random:Switchingimagesbyusingtheabovefiveeffectsrandomly.

Date/Time settings

Setsthedate.Select atloweronthedisplaythenpress[ENTER].

Setsthetime.Select atloweronthedisplaythenpress[ENTER].

LCD brightness settings

Adjuststhebrightnesstodimmer.

Adjuststhebrightnesstoamoderatelevel.

Timer settings

Demonstration mode setting

Initialize setting

Deletesallsettingsandreturntothefactory-setstatus.

Returnstothemenudisplaywithoutinitializing.

To set the timer

1 Press [MENU], select (Settings) with / then press [ENTER].

2 Select (Timer settings) with / then press [ENTER].

3 Select a timer to be set with / then press [ENTER].:Thepowerisautomaticallyturnedoffaftertheintervalyouhaveselectedforthishaspassedwithno

operation(AutoOFFsetting).:Turnonoroffthepoweratthespecifiedtime(AutopowerON/OFFsetting).

4 Set the time to activate the timer.Auto OFF setting Press / to select a time then press [ENTER].

Auto power ON/OFF setting To turn on the power automatically at a specified time, press to select

then press [ENTER]. If you do not wish to set it, proceed to step .

Set the time when the power is to be turned on. Press to select the hour or minute then press [ENTER]. Press / to

change the number then press [ENTER] to register it.

To turn off the power automatically at a specified time, press to select then press [ENTER]. If you do not want to set it, proceed to step .

Press to select at the bottom then press [ENTER].

5 Press [MENU] to complete.

TheAutoOFFsettingandAutopowerON/OFFsettingcannotbesetatthesametime.Thelattersettingtakesprecedence.

Exchanging a panel (DPF-C70E only)Youcanexchangetheoriginalpanelwiththesuppliedexchangeablepanel.

1 Insert a long, thin object such as a pin into the hole at the lower right on the rear of the photo frame and lift up the front panel.

2 Remove the panel.

3 Align the claw of the exchangeable panel with the hole of the photo frame then tuck the exchangeable panel in.

4 Press the four corners of the exchangeable panel to snap it in place on the photo frame.

TroubleshootingBeforesubmittingthephotoframeforrepair,tryusingthefollowingguidancetosolvetheproblem.Iftheproblempersists,consultwithyourSonydealerorSonyservicefacilities.

IsthefileformatcompatiblewithDCF?AfilethatisnotcompatiblewithDCFmaynotbedisplayedwiththephotoframe,evenifitcanbedisplayedwitha

computer.

Some images are not displayed.Aretheimagesdisplayedintheindexview?

Iftheimageisdisplayedintheindexviewbutcannotbedisplayedassingleimage,theimagefilemaybedamagedeventhoughitsthumbnailpreviewdataisfine.

AfilethatisnotcompatiblewithDCFmaynotbedisplayedwiththephotoframe,evenifitcanbedisplayedwithacomputer.

Ifyounamedorrenamedthefileonyourcomputerandthefilenameincludescharactersotherthanalphanumericcharacters,theimagemaynotbedisplayedonthephotoframe.

Isthereafolderwithmorethan8levelsinitshierarchyonthememorycard?Thephotoframecannotdisplayimagessavedinafolderthatismorethan8thhierarchy.

A vertical image is displayed in horizontally orientation.AnimageshotwithadigitalcamerathatdoesnotsupporttheExifrotatetagwhenrecordedinverticalorientation,is

displayedinhorizontallyorientaion.

If an error icon appearsIfanerroroccurs,oneofthefollowingiconsmaybedisplayedontheLCDscreenofthephotoframe.Followthecorrespondingsolutionbelowtosolvetheproblem.
