Mass and Prayers for Healing
Tuesday, April 25—6:30 !.".
On behalf of Totally Yours Pilgrimage and Visitation Parish, we invite you to come and experience a very powerful and inspirational evening with Mass and Pray-ers for Healing with Fr. Ivo Pavic, OFM.
Thousands of people around the world have come to hear his powerful talks and experience his healing min-istry.
It is an evening you will not want to miss!
The Crypt of the Saints After 40 years in the making, it is finally completed and is
now a “fully operational battle station” against the wickedness and snares of the devil!
The Crypt of the Saints, located below the Adoration Chap-el in the Visitation Parish Convent at 799 S. York St, is open every Sunday from 9:00 !.". until 1:30 #.".
Over 700 statues, icons and relics are awaiting your pray-ers, devotion and veneration. Over 600 books about saints are available for your research or reading enjoyment while in the Crypt.
Now you can visit Jesus in the Adoration Chapel and His saints in the Crypt every Sunday before or after Mass.
News from the P.I.T. – Priest in Training Today the Church celebrates Divine Mercy Sunday. If
you go to various churches today, including our own, you are most likely to see the Divine Mercy Image given to us by St. Faustina. At the bottom of the picture/painting you will see this line, “Jesus, I trust in you.” I would argue to understand Divine Mercy, we also need to understand that line. For those two go together: Mercy and Trust!
Why? Mercy is a surrender. It is a handing over our life to someone else. And in this world, just because you re-quest mercy, doesn’t mean you will receive it. I can give you countless times I asked my sisters, parents, teachers, boss, etc.… for mercy and didn’t receive it.
Yet, God is merciful. There is not a time where He doesn’t give us His mercy and love. And yet, we don’t trust in His mercy. So, instead of surrendering to God, we try to take control of everything in our lives. We lock our doors like the Apostles in the Gospel or doubt like Thom-as. In the end, we are afraid trust in God and surrender our lives to God’s mercy.
If there is one thing I pray that will happen to all of us this Divine Mercy Sunday is that we can say confidently the line from the Divine Mercy Image, “Jesus, I trust in you!” The moment we surrender to God is the moment we can receive His Mercy.
May Rosary Devotion The Rosary will be prayed before Saturday Vigil Mass-
es and Sunday morning Masses during the month of May. Please join us.

Divine Mercy Corner Jesus said to St. Faustina: “I desire that the Feast of
Mercy be a refuge and shelter for all souls, and especially for poor sinners. On that day the very depths of My tender mercy are open. I pour out a whole ocean of graces upon those souls who approach the fount of My mercy. The soul that will go to Confession and receive Holy Communion shall obtain complete forgiveness of sins and punishment. On that day all the divine floodgates through which graces flow are opened. Let no soul fear to draw near to Me, even though its sins be as scarlet.” (Diary, 699).

In this illuminating talk, Fr. Michael Gaitley recounts how Archbishop Karol Wojtyla, later Pope St. John Paul II, used the teachings of the Second Vatican Council with great success to help Catholics in his diocese live their faith to the full. Learn how Vatican II provides a map to help us enrich our lives through faith and effectively expe-rience the good news of God’s divine mercy.
Parishioner Comments “This talk has turned around my view about Vatican II
(because I had very wrong perceptions about it before) and encouraged me to strive for true holiness.”

Catholic Reading Club, May Selection:
Our Lady of Fatima
In recognition that May 2017, will be the 100th anniversary of Our Blessed Mother’s first apparition to the three young peasant children of the tiny village of Fatima, Portugal, the Catholic Reading Club will read and discuss Fatima for Today by Rev. Andrew Apostoli, CFR. Fr. W.T. Walsh’s book, Our Lady of Fatima also overs the same events.
Our Lady’s call to prayer and penance for the salvation of souls and peace in the world is as relevant today as it was in 1917.
Because of the prophetic nature of her messages the sto-ry of Our Lady of Fatima has been the subject of much controversy and speculation. Fr. Apostoli, an acclaimed expert on Fatima, carefully analyzes the events and mes-sages. He also challenges the reader to hear anew the call of Our Lady to prayer and sacrifice, for the world is ever in need of generous hearts to make reparation for those in danger of losing their way to God.
All are welcome to join the Catholic Book Club in re-viewing the details of Our Lady’s call to the world at Fati-ma in 1917, on Thursday May 18, 9:30 !.". to noon in the Parish Center, Hospitality room. If you are interested in a study guide for the discussion or have any questions about the books or the book club generally, please contact Paul-ine Scharres at 630-257- 2693 or [email protected].
