We mostly under-estimate the complexity of our organisations
Many of our institutions are managed to an alarming extent by “gut feel”
The more complex the organisation the less accurate is the gut

• We all have to stop “side stepping” the issue of complexity – we need to stop trying to find work-arounds
• We need to accept that our organisations are complex
• We need to accept that informed decision making is not possible without a thorough knowledge of the organisation
• We need to convince decision makers that EA can improve their decision making.

• An enterprise modeller will sit with the Senior Executive of the University when it is making decisions.
• Competitive budget processes will be a thing of the past
• A new Vice Chancellor will consult the enterprise model before making a change
