Israeli social music streaming service raises 200k in seed round.
Echo is a social music streaming service that helps music fans share their music effortlessly, in real-time; after completing
the Startup Bootcamp accelerator in Tel aviv, it has recently made a seed round of $200k from Imperious Group, a
growing fund based in Saint-Petersburg and SAMCO, Paris based family office investing into leading hedge mobile
technology. Coming out at the end of summer, it will be available as a native mobile app for iOS and Android, and as a
web platform.

Humans more than algorithms!
Echo challenges the main music platforms in the market, such as
Songza, Spotify and Beats Music; like their competitors,
Echo is solving two problems:
1. what music should people listen to according to their current
activity or mood and
2. what song should follow in the playlist; this is why Echo went
down the path of human curation rather than suggestive
algorithms.
The team believes humans are a lot better at knowing how other
humans feel about music, than any algorithm out there. What makes
Echo different is that it’s making the playlist building, upload seamless,
with the focus on immediate sharing and communication among
peers.
Vision
Echo is a social music platform; users create and curate playlists
directly from their device, share it as a personal radio on a feed,
where others can find them and tune in based on location or following
their profiles.

What is Echo right now?
The startup first came out with an app that crowdsourced mobile
device speakers, to create a sound system out of mobile devices. One
device starts the session, others connect, and the app plays music on
all speakers in sync. Currently available for iOS, while Android is on
the way. After successfully building and releasing the app, they
realized the technology could be much more. From this point, they
pivoted and began working with a new goal: give music lovers a
platform where they can express themselves and find good music.
What’s coming for Echo?
Echo is now becoming a music service for sharing playlists in real-
time; you can create a personal radio station from the devices in your
pocket; one grabs the music from her library, creates a playlist and
shares it instantly with other users, through a feed of music streams.
The service will still have the feature to create sound-systems out of
their devices, with additional capabilities for personal and group use
cases.
Technology
Echo streams music from one devices to many and syncs playbacks,
all through the cloud. A user creates a stream, generates a playlist,
using music stored on her devices and other music sources alike
(SoundCloud for now). The stream is now on Echo’s feed, the user
can share it with others, while other users can join the session. Streams
are displayed either by location or by following people.
Who’s behind Echo?
The two co founders, Danya Tsiporukha and Ezra Fuks were
studying at university when they started this project, and assembled a
team of another 3 equally young and enthusiastic people to help
them realize the project.
