In the last four decades the world has made unbelievable stridesin getting children into schools and young adults into universities

Despite this great progress, we have neglected to focus on quality.

We have got kids into school, without much thought about whether they are learning when they are in those schools.

Countries like India boast primaryeducation access rates above

can’t do basic subtraction or even read basic text

can’t do simple division after primary school

don’t meet expectations for their grade level
