SEL, or Social and Emotional Learning, refers tothe types of skills that influence your EQ. Itincludes 5 different areas. Take a look at the listbelow and consider how well you do with each.Do you excel in any of these areas? If you do, thisprogram may be for you!
EQ>IQ
IQ has long been seen as a prime indicatorof your future success in school, careerand life. However, research in recent yearsshows that it is another factor, your EQ(or Emotional Quotient), that is muchmore important in determining yourfuture success in life. Read on to find outmore about EQ and how it relates to socialand emotional learning.
The SELL Crew Project is a three-componentSEL initiative that places student leaders withexemplary social and emotional skills (highEQ) at the heart of the initiative. Studentshelped to create the program and in Fall2020, a group of approximately 60-70upperclassmen from both high schools(Bettendorf HS and Edison Academy) willserve as major players in developing andcarrying out each level of the project.
