SUMMER
ESCAPE YOUR DAILY ROUTINE, UP TO THE MOUNTAINS
GREAT FUN FOR ALL AGES!
Ingrained in the natural beauty of the surrounding landscape, the Blomberg is home
to one of the longest summer toboggan runs in Europe. Standing at approximately
1,300 (4,265 ft.) in length with 41 s-turns and 17 steep turns, the toboggan track
winds across the lush green pastures and idyllic mountain setting to make for a fun
and secure sledding experience. With no need to rush, descend at your own time
and leisure!
Children ages 8 and above are able to ride the summer toboggan alone. Children
below the age of 8 can ride the toboggan accompanied by a parent.
Ascending to the start of the toboggan run – situated at the midway station at the
Blomberg – can be easily accessed by chairlift or on foot via the hiking trail. Families
with children, school trips, groups and clubs are all welcome to come and share
in an unforgettable experience on the summer toboggan run. Furthermore, weather
permitting, an excursion into the Bavarian mountains is a great follow up to fun on
the summer toboggan run.

TOBOGGAN RUN
TOBAGGING FUN ALL YEAR AROUND
Situated at the foot of the Blomberg, the alpine coaster winds over the terrain next to
the ski slope and operates all year round. Covering a distance of 1305m, the rail-gui-
ded sleds navigate a course consisting of steep turns, waves, double waves, a twister,
roundabout and jumps. Each sled is equipped with a brake lever enabling passengers
to control their speed which can reach up to 40km/h on certain parts of the ride. In
addition, sleds also feature an acrylic glass hood to protect the passenger from wind
and rain, in turn allowing the “Blomberg Blitz” to operate through all four seasons in
the year – rain or shine.
Unlike the classic summer toboggan run at the Blomberg, the “Blomberg Blitz” offers
the chance to experience pulse raising speeds, turns and dips in wet weather thanks
to a sled capable of taking on the elements as well as the alpine course. The sled’s
acrylic hood will protect from head winds and rain drops over the course of the run.
Children ages 8 and above can ride alone while any passengers under the age of
8 must be accompanied by an adult. Children up to the age of 7 are eligible to ride
for free.

In addition to Germany’s longest summer toboggan run, the adventure park situa-
ted near the Blomberg caters for a varied leisure and recreation program designed
for children and adolescents. With apparatus including trampolines, all ages and
sizes can try out acrobatic leaps and summersaults from within a safe and secure
environment. For those too young to obtain a driving licence, the children’s traffic
garden offers to the chance to register some laps behind the wheel of a mini-kart or
at the helm of a mini-bike. Further attractions within the adventure park include water
games, simulators and a small animal enclosure where children can feed squirrels.
While the children are having fun and putting their energy to good use, parents can
take a moment and relax on the nearby terrace of the Blombergtenne, all the while
still able to keep a watchful eye on the actives at the nearby adventure park. Bookings
for school classes and children’s birthday parties can be offered special programs

The double chairlift is the most convenient way atop Blomberg or to the starting point
of the Blomberg Classic summer toboggan run at the halfway station. Whoever wants
to shorten their mountain hike after the first section can take the chairlift from the
halfway station up the mountain and conserve their energy.
The chairlift can only be entered and exited when going uphill.
After traveling a good 1800 m and an altitude difference of 500 m, you reach the
mountain station at a height of 1236 m. While traveling up the mountain and down
the valley, passengers are offered a magnificent view of Lake Starnberg, Bad Tölz and
the Bavarian Oberland to Munich.
The speed can be slowed down for getting on and off on request. Small children can
ride on the laps of their parents and folding strollers can also easily be transported.
The new double chairlift with fully upholstered seats now offer even greater comfort
during the transport.

EXCURSIONS, WALKS, HIGH-ALTITUDE HIKING
Some of the most beautiful hiking trails are situated at the foothills of the Bavarian Alps,
with the Blomberg long being one of the most popular recreational destinations for
visitors from around the globe.
The Bavarian Oberland is painted with luscious green forests and meadows intert-
wined with beautiful views of Lake Starnberg, Lake Ammer and the Isar Valley. Pan-
oramic views also stretch as far as Munich, the Alps, Kerwandel and the Wetterstein
mountain ranges.
The Blomberg is home to over 20 km (13 miles) of well signposted hiking trails that
include a range of uphill, downhill and high circular track routes to explore. With each
individual trail offering its own first-hand view of the outstanding natural beauty in the
area, all levels of hiking enthusiasts and families can find the trail that suits them.
Detailed maps highlighting the hiking routes across the Blomberg are available at the
base station, Blomberghaus and tourist information office.
Around 25km (15.5 miles) of winter hiking trails are available to be explored by a wide
ranging level of walkers and hiking enthusiasts. Whether you are looking to ascent to
the summit of the Blomberg, a trip to Zwiesel, the Blomberghaus or the Heigkopf, the
hiking trails provide breath-taking panoramic of the natural landscape.
The therapeutic climate park of the Tölz region is supported by the Bavarian State ministry for Nu-trition, Agriculture and Forestry and the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development. (ELER)

SINNESWANDEL ART TRAIL
On the summit plateau of the Blomberg along the ridge path, Kunstverein Tölzer Land
e.V. presents more than 17 sculptures, plastics and land-art objects. These works are
intended to encourage the viewer to have a better understanding of nature, raise aware-
ness and stimulate unfamiliar perceptual processes.
Here, the path is in a constant state of flux, objects are added, decay or are placed
elsewhere. For more information on “Sinneswandel”, an extra brochure is available
under www.kunstverein-toelzerland.de
MOUNTAIN BIKING
The bike tours situated near Bad Tölz will provide the perfect fit for all varying
fitness levels and cycling enthusiasts, with the classic tour incorporating the
landscape of the Blomberg.
Blomberg tour: The tour begins at the foot of the mountain in the carpark, and
travels up the right hand side of the hardened forest road up the Blomberg. The
route incorporates the Blomberghause and mountain station before the trail visits the
Waldherralm and Wackersberg on the descent back to the base station. The route is
approximately 10 km (6 miles) in distance. Circuit: The circuit – a slightly steeper
route than the Blomberg tour – takes the track up to the Blomberghaus, up and over
the Heigelkopf and Wackerberg Alm before heading back down to the route’s star-
ting point. Always remember to be respectful to walkers and nature!
HANG GLIDERS
At the Blomberg, there are three separate launch sites for hang gliders including: East,
North East and North West. The assent to the launch sites is easy thanks to the double
chairlift. Once at the mountain station, it’s only a few more meters to launch sites and
starting zones. The landing site is located opposite the base station within the grounds
of the campsite near Stallauer Lake. Maps containing information about the landing
sites can be found at the base station.21

ACTIVITIES ON TOP OF THE MOUNTAIN
“GIPFELTRIMM” - SPORT KINESIOLOGY TRAINING COURSE
Very close to the mountain station, „Gipfeltrimm“ opened in September 2010. It
consists of a circle of twelve exercise machines based on the findings of Traditional
Chinese Medicine (TCM ) on the energy flow in the body.
Each „Gipfeltrimm“ exercise is clearly explained on a small sign. The near-natural
design of the training equipment - all made of wood and stone - illustrates the deli-
berate simplicity of movement and the multitude of natural movement possibilities.
The goal is not only to train the body, but also the harmonization of body and mind.
With „Gipfeltrimm”, the focus is not on increasing performance, but on relaxation
and deceleration.

FOREST
ADVENTURE
– NOT JUST
FOR KIDS
EXPLORER’S TRAIL BAD TÖLZ
Try something new, solve riddles and be amazed – numerous different stations along
this forest adventure trail invite big and small hikers alike to experience nature anew.
There are wooden telescopes that are focused on a special highlight in the area and
wooden chimes. You can get to know various types of trees and for the very small
visitors, there are stories dating back to 2014 about the dwarf family of the Bloms
who live on Blomberg.
The Explorer’s trail is based on the concept of the catholic foundation Katholische
Stiftungsfachhochschule Benediktbeuern, Environment and Culture program. It runs
across the toboggan run between the halfway station of the Blomberg lift and the
mountain rescue service cabin right below the Blomberghaus. The start and end are
marked by a horse and a tractor; they are symbolic for the tools used for extracting
timber back then and now. The trail is accessible from spring to fall and can be
explored from top to bottom and vice versa.
The Explorer’s trail Bad Tölz is a cooperation of the catholic foundation Munich, area Benediktbeuern; the office for Nutrition, Agriculture and Forestry Miesbach, area Fo-restry (Wolfratshausen); the Blomberg lift Bad Tölz; the Kletterwald on Blomberg and the city of Bad Tölz.22 23
