2. Purpose of Project:

The purpose of this project is to investigate and research compensation for the salaries of Mayor and City Council Members of comparable Alabama Cities. This information will be used to make a well-informed decision when establishing the salaries for Mayor and City Council for the City of Semmes 2012-2016 term.

• This is a comprehensive list of all of the cities in Alabama between the size (in population) of 2,450 to 4,000.

• This allows for a 15% decrease to a 40% increase in population for the City of Semmes over the next 4 years.

• Bayou la Batre (2,558) and Citronelle (3,905) are the two Mobile County cities that fall into this range
