The Minister of Higher Education and Training, intends to repeal
SETA Grant Regulations regarding monies received by a SETA and
related matters and replace them with a new set of regulations,
including:
• Pivotal Grant
• Reduced discretionary spend
• More detailed information requested on grant application form
• Timing for implementation has not been specified and Fasset will
continue as usual

• Strong focus on Formal Education and Pivotal Programmes
• Encouraging SETAs to work closely with FETs and Universities
• The National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) will assist
