• To fill the knowledge gap concerning IAQ in schools and childcare settings.
• To produce risk management options for remedial measures and EU guidelines on healthy school environment to cover a wider array of situations in Europe.
On the policies
On the challenges• To value all previous information available on the field. This will require an in depth “background” (WP2)
• To undertake a wide spectrum of field studies (WP3, WP4), respectively in the physical/chemical and biological aspects and on the health effects.
• To cross analyse the results of the field studies while integrating the WP2 contributions. A special attention o the potential of a database (WP5).
• To undertake a comprehensive risk assessment of what is at the core of the problematic of IAQ in schools today (WP6).
• To come up with a set of proposals regarding policies and guidelines to be transferred into practice (WP7).
• To assure the adequate dissemination of the project’s outcome (WP8).

• WP leaders protagonism to reach final decisions only subject to formal confirmation from the Coordination
• Fluid communication between partners within WPs. Initiative welcome top down as well as bottom up
• Coordination between WP leaders of interrelated WPs
• Rigorous respect of deadlines, plans and protocols
• Coordinating Committee to be kept informed and to confirm options
• Statements on the informal meetings held at REC to be sent to the coordination members
