FIRST AIDIntroduction
• In certain situations, it may be necessary to administer emergency care. In cases of serious injury or sudden illness, you may need to begin emergency care immediately and continue until help arrives.
First Aid Kit Contents
• You should always keep a first aid kit in your home your vehicle, and especially have one with you if you are traveling or are engaging in outdoor activities.
• Regardless of where you are and even if you do not have children, your first aid kits contents needs to have all the necessities that you might need to address small cuts to
larger wounds that will need medical attention.
What your first aid kits contents should contain are basic items such as:
•Bandages - which include many different sizes. If you have children, this is especially necessary because you will surely go through a lot of bandages while your children are young.
• One of the items you will want to have charcoal in case of an accidental poisoning, which is common in households with very young children. This helps to absorb the poison until you can get the child to the emergency room.
• If you travel, your emergency medical kit contents should contain an insect repellent, tweezers, small pair of scissors, thermometer, latex gloves, and self-sealing sandwich or freezer bags if you need to make an ice pack.
For safety is not a gadget but a state of mind.
