Weir Minerals strengthens service in Scandinavia

DXP Enterprises buys B27 LLC

Weir Minerals has opened a dedi-

cated service centre in Gaumlllivare

Sweden alongside a manufac-

turing site operated by its mine

servicing business Gema Industri

The new Weir Minerals service

centre off ers a range of services for

products including conveyor belts

and pumps There is also a machine

workshop on site

Houston Texas-headquartered B27

is a global supplier of pump and

integrated fl ow control solutions

serving the oil and gas power

generation air quality and other

industrial markets B27 operates

through two subsidiaries Best

PumpWorks and Integrated Flow

Solutions Best PumpWorks distrib-

utes supplies remanufactures and

services industrial pumps while

Integrated Flow Solutions engi-

neers and constructs skid-

mounted customised modular

liquid and gas handling systems

With projected sales of US$198

million and adjusted EBITDA of

US$35 million for fi scal 2013 B27

Flowserve acquires Innomag

Flowserve Corp has bought Inno-

vative Mag-Drive LLC (Innomag) a

US manufacturer of advanced seal-

less magnetic drive centrifugal

pumps used mainly in the chem-

ical and general industries

as well as mag-drive pump tech-

nues of around US$19 million and

John Crane is supplying seals

couplings and bearings to Italian

pump manufacturer Termomec-

canica Pompe (TMP) for 24 centrif-

ugal pumps that will be used in the

development of Iraqrsquos Zubair oil fi eld

The agreement covers mechanical

seals and systems high-perform-

ance couplings and hydrodynamic

bearings

The Zubair project has a develop-

ment target of 850 000 barrels of oil

per day

Flygt pumps to drain New Jersey storm waterXylem Inc has won a US$27 million

contract to supply equipment and

technology for a storm water

drainage system along Route 35

on the New Jersey coastline in the

US

The new drainage system will

consist of 47 Flygt Slimline pumps

and 27 smaller Flygt submersible

N-pumps in nine pump stations

located at intervals along the

12-mile stretch of road that was

severely damaged by Superstorm

Sandy in October 2012 Flygt

MultiSmart pump controllers will

ensure the effi cient operation of

the system Each of the nine

pump stations will have the

capacity to move 25 000ndash35 000

gallons of water per minute

The new drainage system is part

of a US$265 million reconstruction

program following Superstorm
