Public Pop Up Event
at the Restaurant, The Belle-Vue Hotel,
Llanwrtyd Wells
On Thursday 7th June 2018
from 12pm – 4pm
Llanwrtyd Wells residents are now being referred into clinics provided by Hywel Dda Health Board and therefore it is really important that people are made aware of the new arrangements.
Representatives from Powys Teaching Health Board and Powys Community Health Council will be on hand at the Belle Vue Hotel on Thursday 7th June to discuss the proposals of Hywel Dda Health Board’s “Our Big NHS Change” which may affect us. The event will take the form of an informal pop-up opportunity to learn more about Hywel Dda’s proposals and to express your views. Please come along any time between midday and 4pm to find out more.
For more information regarding the event please contact Mandy Mills on 01874 712489 or email [email protected]
For more information regarding the consultation go to

Llanwrtyd Wells & District Twinning Association
The main item under discussion at the recent meeting of the Twinning Association concerned the exchange visit in the autumn. Our friends in Meriel are very excited that we are coming to see them and are already organising our accommodation and arranging a schedule of activities to keep us busy! The plan is to leave on Friday 12th October and return on Monday 15th October. Some twinners may like to make their own way, others might prefer group travel arrangements. Either way, if you are interesting in going - or for more information - please contact Bryn Davies, chairperson, on 01591 610633 or Elizabeth Morris, secretary, at elizabeth @gemma0914.plus.com. The next Business Meeting will be on Thursday June 7 at the Institute at 8pm, everybody welcome! Ruth Stickland, Minutes Secretary email: [email protected] telephone: 01591 610701

Message from the Mayor As my term in office is now concluded I would like to thank all Councillors for their valued support over the last three years as we have faced many challenges. In particular a special thank you to Cllr T Van Rees for his contribution to the Town Council in his capacity at County Councillor.
I would also like to thank Lynn Ball, the Town Clerk, for her loyal and steadfast support throughout my time as Mayor. I would also like to say a huge thank you to the Community for coming forward to volunteer in order maintain and sustain services and events within the Town.
Here are just a few organisations that rely on volunteer input: The library, The surgery, “Grapevine” Community magazine, The “Speed Watch” team, The Heritage Centre, The Abergwesyn and Victoria Hall Committees, The Eisteddfod Committee , Friends of St David’s Church, The Dolwen Field Committee, Green Events, WAG, The newly reformed Tourism Steering group. This list is not exhaustive and I apologise if I have missed anyone out but it shows how a Community working together can make such a difference, maintaining Llanwrtyd as a special place to live and keeping services within the Town alive.
Thank you to all.
In conclusion I would like to wish Mrs Lynda Pace-Avery a happy successful term of office which I will be only too pleased to support.
Llanwrtyd Wells Speed Watch Group
To help us monitor vehicle speeds through Llanwrtyd we still
need volunteers.
Commitment is approx. 1 hour per week and only if the weather is
good. This will help with road safety in the town.
