Ion Exchange Services Limited is an associate company of
Ion Exchange (India) Ltd, the pioneers in the field of total water management solutions. IESL offers complete water
and waste water management services, across diversified
sectors such as pharmaceuticals, breweries, food & beverages, hotels, hospitals, software technology parks, to
name a few.
IESL operates with 10 branches in India and Nepal and is
supported by well trained & experienced technical team of more than 1500 engineers. IESL is the LARGEST organized
service network in water treatment Industry across Asia.
The portfolio of services to cater to high quality of water
demanded for various industries, includes solutions for pre-
treatment, process treatment, Boiler & Cooling water treatment, effective recycling of industrial effluents and rain-
water harvesting.
IESL offers various cost effective services that provides high
quality solutions for drinking, swimming pool, recycling etc. IESL’s strong human resource network ensures engineers
are available in any corner of India or Nepal to serve our
customers.
In addition to offering solutions and supplies of complete
water treatment plants, for both industrial and institutional applications, which includes Effluent treatment plants, water
treatment plants, sewage treatment plants, IESL also
undertakes modification or automation of old plants in order to improve their efficiency.
In areas where there is scarcity of water, solutions are
offered in the form of Build-Operate-Own (BOO) and Build-
Operate-Own-Transfer (BOOT), where in IESL invests in a plant and supplies water to meet the requirement.
IESL designs, manufactures and supplies the entire gamut of spares, consumables & chemicals, of the highest quality in
order to ensure optimum functioning of the water and waste
water treatment plants.

With the facilities and rich technical expertise available across
India, total water audits are rendered to industries & institutions to evaluate the quality of water and to offer
solutions to enhance the current efficiency levels of the
complete facility.
Supported by over 1500 trained engineers and a technical
department with over 100 man years of combined experience,
IESL has the wherewithal to offer total water management
service to meet any requirement.
To enhance the quality of services to the large magnitude of
IESL’s customers, a customer care centre has been
established at the corporate office.
Qualitative & intensive reviews are conducted across the
organization on a very periodic basis, to evaluate & enhance
the standard of service levels being offered. Our customer
reports include comprehensive details such as operational
overview, critical issues, continuous improvement plans,
health, safety & environment best practices and sustainability
development programs.
ACHIEVEMENTS
It is our privilege to serve the customers with 24+ years of
expertise in servicing any make and type of water & waste
water treatment equipment, IESL currently caters to over
14000 customers across diverse industries and institutions.
The extensive nature of support is also evident from the fact
that IESL has over 250 operations & maintenance contracts
and over 1000 Annual maintenance contracts at any point of
time, in addition to the large number of need based service
support rendered.
IESL is by far the single largest organization in India when it
comes to supplying water, having supplied over 65 million
gallons of water from Build-Own-Operate (BOO) programs.

Ion Exchange Services Limited (IESL) is a customer-centric

PEOPLE
IESL has over 1500 employees, in various disciplines of
engineering, post graduates in environmental engineering,
design, business management, spread across India and
Nepal.
Through Tie-ups with institutions that impart education in
environmental sciences, students are directly recruited into
IESL, who then undergo internship in the organization. Well
established exclusive training department provides theoretical
and On-the-job training, before deployment. Periodical job
rotations, individual need based training, identifying
effectiveness of training, results in maintaining and constant
up-gradation of technical skills repository.
All new members of IESL organization undergo a
familiarization and structured induction process, during which
they understand the functions of all departments of the
organization, prior to their deployment in the field. Engineer
trainees are inducted into the organization, who undergo a 6
months intensive on-the-job training at manufacturing
facilities in Hosur & Goa.
The performance management process, backed by clearly
identified & communicated individual key-result-areas,
enables the organization in identifying the performers for
further development. High and consistent performers are
identified from various locations across the organization and
an Achiever’s meet is conducted every year to recognize and
reward all such performers.
IESL is a professionally managed organization wherein career
growth and challenges are provided to all employees, which
has resulted in continuity of service in high order. Long
service awards are presented to employees on their
completion of 5, 10, 20, etc. years of service with the
organization, and the sizeable list of such long serving
employees indicated here is a testimony to the work
environment and importance accorded to the employees.
All employees are covered under provident fund scheme,
gratuity scheme & Employee State Insurance (ESI), as
stipulated by the law. Mediclaim facility is provided to those
employees who are out of the perview of ESI act. Accident

QUALITY
Adherence to quality standards at all levels is a way of
life at IESL. The organization has been accredited with
ISO 9001-2000 rating by TUV. For water analysis, the
company has a dedicated laboratory which is NABL
certified and also empanelled by the Karnataka State
Pollution Control Board (KSPCB).
For the superior quality of service and operations, IESL
has been the recipient of IMC Ramkrishna Bajaj national
quality award.
Comprehensive Quality Management System (QMS) have
been established in place across all functions. To ensure
the quality of operations, monthly audit reviews along
with reports being provided to customers.
Periodic performance meetings are conducted with
customers and the feedback thus generated is reviewed
within the senior management team for any necessary
enhancements of service levels required.
Random checks are carried out with customers, to
ascertain effectiveness of services delivered by the IESL
team. Based on these inputs received, regular one-to-one
meetings are conducted with every employee of the
organization.

HEALTH, SAFETY & THE ENVIRONMENT (HSE) MANAGEMENT
Health and Safety is everyone’s responsibility and we
recognize it as an integral part of our management system.
We are committed to achieving continual and effective
improvement to ensure safe and healthy working conditions
for our employees and the avoidance of injury to anyone as
a result of the activities for which IESL has responsibility.
Detailed procedures have been formulated for each task to
ensure delivery is carried out in a consistent and safe
manner across our various sites and to meet the needs and
expectations of our clients, suppliers, sub-contractors,
members of the public and employees.
We ensure that every employee is adequately trained in the
adoption of the IESL’s safe working practices and procedures
by the implementation of safety induction programmes and
regular on-the-job safety training together with structured
recognized courses for supervisory and managerial staff.
IESL will ensure that adequate and appropriate resources are
made available to implement the procedures and that the
policy is properly communicated and understood.
Monitoring plays an important role in the overall
implementation and continuous improvement process by the
adoption of regular safety audits designed to test the
effectiveness of the policy and ensure compliance.
Management staff will take an active role in the compliance
and improvement process by their involvement in conducting
safety tours of the various sites on a periodic basis.
Regular meetings take place between safety personnel and
operational staff to review safe working practices and a
monthly meeting is chaired by IESL Operation Heads to
discuss records and activities.
On each site, significant Health and Safety hazards are
identified and a risk reduction strategy instigated to minimize
the impact on employees, members of the public and
associated workers.
A monthly report is produced detailing the occurrence of any
significant Health and Safety issues during the period, which
is then forwarded to the client representatives for their
review.In addition, we also establish ‘Site Safety Manual’
that suits the contracted services at client’s sites.

Individual safety guidance has been written to cover all activities undertaken by IESL where significant risks to
Health and Safety exist and to cover the principle
requirements of the Health and Safety at Work.
UNIQUE SERVICE PROPOSITION
IESL has already established itself as an end-to-end
solution provider for all water & waste water
management systems.
To ensure customers receive the highest quality of
services across all their locations, uniformity in
service standards & quality has been established
across all of IESL’s operational presence. IESL has
their own in-house facilities to design, manufacture
high quality products and to offer services to meet
the most challenging of customer’s requirements and
standards.
The organization ensures this through self delivery of
these services, which are monitored by robust
mechanisms.
For customers’ requirements of modifying their
existing water treatment systems, or, for automating
the same, the rich technical capability within their
team has the wherewithal to provide end-to-end
delivery of these requirements, in addition to
ensuring smooth operation, by IESL’s competent
engineers.
CORPORATE SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY (CSR)
IESL has always believed in contributing back to the society it is serving in.
Over the years, it has provided continuous patronage to “Society’s Care for Indigent” (SOCARE), an organization
that houses the under-privileged children of convicts. IESL
supports SOCARE in the area of Health & Education. In addition to maintaining a drinking water treatment
equipment, which has been supplied by IESL, support is
also constantly provided by way of donations for annual education fees for the inmates.
In recognition of IESL’s continuous support, a memento was presented to the CEO & ED of IESL, Mr.Dinesh
Sadasivan, by the chief administrator of Sringeri Math, Mr.Gauri Shankar.
Another area where IESL has been involved in providing employment to people in smaller cities, IESL has entered
into tie-ups with institutions that impart education in
environmental sciences. Students are directly recruited into IESL, who then undergo internship and intensive
training in the organization, before being deployed on the
site.
IESL has initiated support to Karunashraya hospital,
Bangalore, on the occasion of World Hospice day (Oct 09, 2010)
IESL also regularly conducts 1-2 day training workshops to
maintenance personnel of various industries, wherein both
theoretical as well as hands-on training is provided on basic water and waste water treatment technologies.
