Healthwatch Leicestershire is a new group that will allow people who live in Leicestershire to tell us what they think about Health and Social Care services in Leicestershire
Healthwatch will start next year, in April 2013
Healthwatch will be independent. This means that Healthwatch Leicestershire will not be controlled by one group or person
It’s job will be to listen to what people say about Health and Social Care Services in Leicestershire
Healthwatch Leicestershire will be able to tell the people who provide services how they can make their services better

We would like you to tell us what you think of our plans for Healthwatch Leicestershire
We have thought about a Vision for Healthwatch Leicestershire. A Vision is what we would like Healthwatch Leicestershire to be like
Our vision is to listen to what people in Leicestershire tell us. It is also to improve Health and Social Care services for everyone
Healthwatch Leicestershire will tell the people who provide services when things go wrong
Healthwatch Leicestershire will work with other groups and organisations to decide what is important
The things that you tell us will help us to make sure things get better
We will speak to user groups to make sure our information is right

There are 3 Rules for Healthwatch
Rule number 1: It will be independent
This means that nobody can tell Healthwatch Leicestershire what they should say or do
Rule number 2: It will be representative
This means that we will listen to what people who live in Leicestershire tell us, and do what they ask us to do
Rule number 3: It will be accountable
This means telling people what Healthwatch Leicestershire has done, and show that things are getting better
We have developed some Principals for Healthwatch Leicestershire. Principals are like Rules
