As backboards are being phased out of practice, this course will review their history and why they are now only used as an extrication tool. The course will also review the NEXIS criteria and when to apply a c-collar to an injured patient.

General public and ATV riders
Learn how to be safe and have fun too while riding ATVs. This course advocates for safe OHV practices for adult riders to reduce injuries and to promote a safe riding example for the next generation of riders. Key messages the course emphasizes are the importance of wearing a helmet and riding sober.
COMMUNITY STOP THE BLEED
General public and immediate responders
Help save someone’s life by learning how to control bleeding in accidents and injuries before trained personnel arrives. In this three-step training, you’ll learn basic care skills such as how to identify the source of uncontrolled bleeding, when to call for help, and how to control or stop the bleeding yourself.

COMMUNITY SAFE DRIVING/YELLOW DOT
Elderly populations, paramedics
The Yellow Dot Program helps paramedics and other first responders gather critical information when an elderly driver gets in a crash and is unable to speak. In this course, you’ll learn more about the program, what type of information goes in the Yellow Dot Packet, and how to fill one out. A Yellow Dot sticker also comes with the packet that can be placed in a vehicle to let first responders know that they can find important information on a patient, if need be.
