Wilkum’s the
to the 83rd
hesapeake RegionalDutch Breeders
Association
Welcome to the 2012 NDS:
Central Pennsylvania is known as Pennsylvania Dutch country for the rich history of German and Swiss
descendants that call this region their home. The Pennsylvania Dutch folks are known as “common” folks, and
have a rich history of hospitality. I look forward to welcoming you all to Pennsylvania Dutch country for the
2012 NDS.
Dutch rabbits have a rich history in the Mid-Atlantic region. Many years ago, the Eastern Dutch Club had
members from all regions of the eastern sea board. The Eastern Dutch Club was an active club in the 1950’s
thru the 1990’s. That club disbanded in 2000. For a brief period of time in the late 1990’s and very early
2000’s the Dutch breed was in decline in our area. A small group of dedicated breeders joined together
in the mid 2000’s to form the Chesapeake Regional Dutch Breeders Association. With the vision of that
small group, the club has grown and now has membership that represent the New England States and as far
south as North Carolina. The group is active and the Dutch Breed is once again a strongly represented breed
throughout our region.
The members of the CRDBA have been working very hard over the past 3 years to organize an outstanding
NDS. It is our hope that you come to join us at the 2012 NDS. We hope you fi nd the event one of the most
outstanding in recent years. The venue is a huge expo center, in the heart of Pennsylvania Dutch country. I
hope that we can provide you with a memorable NDS.
Bring your Dutch to Pa. Dutch Country…

FRIENDSThe Daddy’s Favorite Five things to do at the 2012 NDS:
1. Hangout at the Youth Show table and watch them working together running rabbits to & back, not as Competitors but as FRIENDS.
2. Hangout at the ADRC Publicity Booth, chat with Club members as they buy ADRC items. 3. Make sure you take time to visit Founder’s Hall at the Milton Hershey School to learn about
how we should all act towards those less fortunate than ourselves - INSPIRATIONAL.4. Visit Chocolate World Visitors Center at Hershey Park – Free Tour- but leave your wallet
in the car because at the end of the tour you will fi nd yourself in the Hershey Candy Store – TEMPTATION.
5. Sunday mornings 6 – 7 AM Breakfast Buffet at the Hotel Hershey Circular Dining Room – The Sweetest Place on Earth
I wish to take this opportunity to express both my appreciation and gratitude to Dick Gehr and Norma Hart for not only how much they do for the ADRC, but for their guidance and help with
the layout, printing & mailing of this 2012 NDS Catalog.
