Firstly, I apologise that the newsletter was not emailed out on Friday. It was a rather busy end to the week! Thank you to those that signed up to Parent Fund following the letter sent out last week. We have 102 families signed up to direct debit– thank you. How-ever, this is a little down on last year so I do ask new parents and parents that have not donated be-fore to consider donating a monthly amount. Just
head to www.localgiving.org and search for Hollymount. I hope you all enjoyed the weekend and England's first, if not very con-vincing, win in the Rugby World Cup. Best of luck to Eng-land and all the home nations over the next few months. Let’s hope for another memorable moment like 2003.

Platinum Sports Mark Last week, we received our Platinum School Sports Mark certificate. This is awarded to schools that have held the Gold Sports Mark for more than 5 years and is given in recognition to our commit-ment to providing competitive and high quality PE provision. I look forward to seeing how our teams perform in the many competitions we enter this year and I hope for some silverware! Thank you to Miss Howland and Coach Fraser for organising the PE provision at Hollymount.
School Value of the Half Term This half term, the children are focusing on the school value of ‘Responsibility’. They have already had an assembly to remind them how they can show responsibility. The teachers will focus on this value throughout this half term in class. Please see the attached poster explain-ing what responsibility looks like at Hollymount.
PLEASE LABEL ALL SCHOOL UNIFORM! This makes it a lot easier for us to return
lost uniform to the correct pupil.
Energise Monday We welcome parents to stay to watch Energise Monday but can we ask you to not film as we have a number of parents that have not given permission for their child to be filmed. Many thanks.
NO NUT OR SEASAME SEEDS IN SCHOOL We remain a NO NUT school. This includes peanut butter and satay sauce – both of which I had to remove from children’s lunch boxes last week. We also have a child in school that has a severe allergy to sesame seeds and sesame oil. We therefore ask children to not bring in hummus as this contains tahini (sesame paste). I understand this is a healthy option in the lunch box, however we have had to ban this across the school as we do not want this child to have a severe reaction. Thank you for your cooperation.
