    One Mans Opinion

Part II usually read the Opinion and Editorial pages in the daily newspa-per. Normally I come away with a feeling of consternation at the ab-solute, unabashed conservatism of the articles. I envision the writersbeing so conservative that they are all standing around a table with a belt, suspenders, braces and arope tied around their waists to keep their pants up. It had gotten to the point that Id appointed my-self as the voice of reason. I intend to make it my mission to offer a different viewpoint.

Then, with the unexpected passing of one of my favorite ministers, The Rev. Dr. Henry R. Delaney,Jr., the editorial pages got it right. Not once, not twice but three times for three consecutive days, there were favorable, in depth articles about the accomplishments of Rev. Delaney. Surprisingly, they portrayed a Fair, Realistic, viewpoint of the man. I wont try to repeat any of the articles here, but Im sure you can still read them online. For this I appreciate the temporary reprieve from mydaily heartburn and headache from being fed the archaic viewpoints of strait laced old moneyconservatism.

I reserve the right though to offer different viewpoints for upcoming editorials, here and perhaps inthe daily newspaper. Or how about a video blog of our One Mans Opinion. What do you think?

    Part II

OK, whats up with the Falcons? They start every game fast, get a decent lead and then let the otherteam just slow walk them down and win in the final few minutes. Where is the Falcons knockoutpunch? I understand the injuries, but if you can get ahead, you should be able to stay ahead. Withthe Patriots coming up this weekend theres a strong possibility of them going 1 and 3. The ONLYgood thing about that is youll be able to get deals on some tickets, but who wants that? Time for thedefense to step up, I DONT CARE that youre playing with a few rookies, , I DONT CARE that someof you key players are hurt. , I DONT CARE , Blah, Blah, Blah. Just win and quit messing up mySunday afternoons.

    Just, One Mans Opinion.

2013 FORD HBCU COMMUNITY CHALLENGE TO GIVE AWAY $40,000 INSCHOLARSHIPS TO BLACK COLLEGE STUDENTS

    -- Deadline to Apply is November 10, 2013 --

Nationwide (BlackNews.com) -- Ford Motor Company is reaching out to students attendingHistorically Black Colleges and Universities for the 2013 Ford HBCU Community Challenge

Competition. Up to $75,000 in scholarships, university and community grants will beawarded for the first-place student team and its project. The new program, conducted in

partnership with the "Tom Joyner" and "Rickey Smiley Morning Shows," encourages HBCUstudents to design community projects that address pressing local needs.

The challenge is a request for proposals addressing the theme of "Building Sustainable

Communities." The Proposal should take an innovative, fresh approach in defining whatbuilding a sustainable community means to ones local community. The Proposal should notbe restricted specifically to environmental issues; rather, "sustainable community" refers to

all elements of a healthy, livable community which can thrive in a global economyencompassing a wide range of issues, including education, safety and mobility.

"We are thrilled to be able to continue in our efforts to support students attending HBCUswith the launch of this program," said Shawn Thompson, manager, Ford Multicultural

Marketing. "This program will allow students to make a difference in their education, schoolsand ultimately their communities."
