NEW POWER IS SIGNIFICANT“Once you have an experience of new power,
you tend to expect and want more of it.”
NEW POWER TRANSFORMED BUSINESSES, IT CAN TRANSFORM POLITICS, TOO.
People feel more powerful with new power, it will be able to change the way we relate to
authority and institutions.
Politics can benefit a lot from mass participation and peer coordination,
with the power of internet, it is now possible to transform politics.
POLITICS, THEN AND NOW Old Times
In Athens, citizens came together to discuss issues
and create policy solutions.
(Direct Democracy)
We can choose our authorities, but we are completely left out on how those authorities reach their decisions.
Now
Language of government is cryptic, people feel that they don’t have
the adequate expert knowledge to contribute to political sphere, only politicians get to decide on issues.
(Indirect Democracy)
Political system remains the same for the past 200 years and expects us to be contented with being passive recipients.
Even if they do not want to become full time politicians, every citizen should be given a vote for every issue.
BUT ANY CITIZEN SHOULD HAVE OPPORTUNITY TO MAKE THEIR VOICE BE HEARD
IN THE POLICY MAKING PROCESS.
Luckily, it’s possible with New Power.
Political action is being able to move from
agitation construction
