Step1. Remove Your Factory Radio
Before taking out your factory radio, you will need to remove the negative cable from the battery
of your vehicle so as to ensure the safety.
Open the small cover above your original radio and remove its two upper screws which are used
for fastening the dashboard trim panel.
After removing the screws, you can then get the trim frame out gently side by side.
Now, you can go on to dismantle you’re the radio unit by removing the four screws at its four
corners. Pry the outer edges of the radio softly and take it out from the dashboard.
Disconnect the plugs and wires at the rear of the radio and put them neatly and do not mix them
together. Put the radio after removal safely elsewhere.
Step 2 Connect the Wiring Harness of the New GPS Unit to Your Original Car
Before this, you will need to know which cables should be connected to the back of the unit at this
time. Generally, there will be power cable, radio antenna and GPS antenna, RCA cable etc. These
are necessary cables for the normal operation of significant functions such radio, GPS etc. Of
course, if you have also ordered an aftermarket backup camera, external digital TV, DVR etc to
working together with the stereo, you will need to have them installed too. You can refer to the
following picture on wiring connection at the back of the unit.
If all the cables have been well connected to the new GPS DVD player, then you need to connect
the other end of new unit’s power cable (Cable 2 in the above picture)to your original car’s power
cable and the other end of the radio antenna (cable 1) to your original car’s radio tuner as the
following picture shows.
With all the above mentioned steps accomplished, Now, you can connect the battery back and see
if the new system can power on and check if it has audio coming out from your original car’s
speakers while working. If it works normally, you can go the next step.
Step3. Fit the New Radio Perfectly to the Dashboard
Here you can refer to step 1.
Firstly, use the four screws to have the new unit fixed to the dash.
Secondly, use the two screws to have the trim frame fastened tightly back to the dash.
Third, close the upper cover and clean up the radio, dashboard and put away the installation
tools.
FAQS about Installation
1. Why the radio does not start up/ power on?
Please check if the power cable is well connected at both ends including the unit’s back and your
original car’s power cable. You can make sure by unplugging both ends and reconnect them.
2. The radio antenna is not the same with my original one. How can I connect my radio
antenna to the unit?
Generally, the radio antenna came with the package can be plugged directly to your original car’s
radio antenna. If you find that they cannot be connected directly, you can buy an adapter online.
3. Can I use my original car’s GPS antenna?
If you want to use your original car’s GPS antenna, you can buy an adapter.
4. Can I use my factory backup camera with this unit?
This unit can support your original car’s reverse camera of AV plug.
5. Where should I put the IPOD and use cable etc.?
You can put the IPOD cable, 3g&WiFi cable, USB cable etc. in your car’s glove box.
6. Where the GPS antenna should be installed?
We suggest putting the GPS antenna at the upper right corner of your dashboard for getting the
best GPS signal.
7. Where can I put the TV antenna?
The TV antenna is suggested to be put at your car’s roof outside of your car.
