in succession of the League of Nations to promote peace, security
and cooperation. The head quarters are in NYC.

There is a lot of domestic violence here, 60% of the population is
under the age of 25. Timor is an island nation, they have a
difficult past of colonization, occupation and war. Human Rights
violations have been historically rife. Many efforts are been made
to ensure that young people are taught their Human Rights from an
early age

Human Rights abuses. There is an urgent need for Human Rights

time. The country has come a long way since the fall of the Soviet
Union in 1989 but abuses are still common place. The government is
determined to improve Human Rights to improve the lives of the
children.

The Chinese authorities have increased surveilliance, harassment
and imprisonment of activists ahead of the countrys 60 anniversary
on October the 1st to prevent them from raising Human Rights
concerns that challenge the authorities image of social
harmony!!!!!
The Chinese government wants to celebrate the countrys success
while ensuring that no dissenting view or complaint is heard. As a
result what the Chinese government is highlighting is its own fear
of giving the Chinese people a real voice to talk about the reality
of their lives, good and bad

Amnesty International is a movement of ordinary people from around
the world standing up for humanity and Human Rights
12. Youth for Human Rights
Youth for Human Rights International teaches Human Rights education
both in the classroom and beyond traditional education settings.
They aim to reach people from diverse backgrounds, through
conferences and workshops to hip-hop and dancing. Their message
spreads around the world and reaches onto every continent and into
many countries.

We can all participate to uphold human rights. There are so many,
here are just a few
We can volunteer sometime to support our local library, reading
centre and school newspaper helping to bring greater knowledge to
others.
Take care of our environment so we and others can enjoy good
health.
Plant a tree.
pick up trash.
Give your help at a homeless shelter.
Share {just share}.
Speak up and communicate.
Know your rights.
Tell others about their Human Rights.
Talk about Human Rights with your friends.
Make sure you vote when you are old enough and encourage others to
do so.
