%riculture employs M/ of the Indian population today# yet it contributes only ./*M to the
GDP* @Isaac# .//3A %ricultural production fell by 0.*M in .//5# one of the sharpest drops in
independent Indias history* %ricultural rowth slowed from *M1 in 0110 to .*M in 011H-

ariculture is in contrast to the M rowth rate of the Indian economy for almost the whole of the

Q Liberalization of e6ternal trade# first throuh liftin restrictions on e6ports of aricultural
