• The value extracted by services using national infrastructure is insufficient and unsustainable. The cost of ownership of the infrastructure platforms is becoming unaffordable.
• The vision of UKCRIC is to create and operate a national and international multidisciplinary research and innovation programme that addresses both these issues, in a partnership between Industry, Government and Academia.
• It starts with enhanced capital investment in shared facilities in academic institutions but will involve further development of a wide range of multidisciplinary research and teaching programmes.
