Installation Instructions

1) Finished cabinet:

The cabinets need to be closed up. Typically this is done with a ¼” – ½” plywood which is then covered with a laminate of your choice. We recommend a metallic finish such as stainless steel, copper etc… This allows for the glass to show its true beauty and unique reflective qualities.

2) Crating:

Make sure to review “Receiving Instructions” on our website Glass weighs 20 pounds per square foot and must always be handled vertically.

3) Laying down the glass countertop:

Using some wood laid over the cabinet as support, we suggest that you lean the glass over the edge of the countertop to facilitate installation. This will make it easier to place the glass in the right position and will avoid scratching the laminate.

4) Removing wood support:

Once the glass is properly positioned, remove wood spacer. Use of suction cups would facilitate this process. Just make sure to avoid contact between the glass panels.

5) Positioning:

Position all the glass pieces exactly in its proper place.

6) Where to adhere the glass:

Due to the weight of these glass countertops, silicone seals are usually only required around walls, sinks, faucets and cooktops.

7) Position masking tape:

Use masking tape along all edges where silicone needs to be applied. The tape needs to be placed at the edge of the bevel, leaving about 1/8” of the joint exposed.

8) Applying silicone:

Fill the open gap with the appropriate silicone. “Water-clear” silicone should be used for glass to glass joints, while quality silicone for K&B applications can be used for all other joints.

9) Smoothing out silicone

It is important to smooth out the silicone with a wet finger in order to ensure proper adhesion to the glass.

10) Remove tape

Remove the tape as soon as possible.

11) Re-smooth silicone

Smooth out silicone a 2nd time to ensure a beautiful joint.

12) Enjoy!

Please wait 24 hours for silicone to cure before using and enjoying your beautiful glass countertops!
