• Nearly half of the jobs in the labor market today are “middle-skill” and demand is likely to remain strong as the economy recovers.
• Under the recovery plan, the most new jobs are expected in construction, manufacturing, retail trade, and leisure and hospitality.
• Temporary and contractual work has accounted for a growing share of the American economy, becoming a major entry point into the labor market for many individuals.
• An estimated 4.2 million green jobs by 2038.
• February employment gains:
192,000 jobs
34,000 jobs in both education and health care
33,000 jobs in manufacturing
