Lack of maritime ambition in the EC proposals to meet EU commitments on carbon emissions. CPMR offers to assist the European Commission in developing a new EU instrument to support Short Sea
TEN-T/CEF and neighbourhood
The CPMR notes the limits regarding the intervention of the CEF outside the EU. Consistent with its high expectations vis-à-vis the EU’s policy towards its neighbours, it should mobilize for a better consideration of neighbouring, pre-accession and candidate countries in EU transport infrastructure policy.

In 2010 in Aberdeen, the CPMR launched Vasco da Gama, an umbrella initiative contributing to this objective

Leonardo multilateral network: proposal prepared in January 2013, currently under evaluation. “Vasco da Gama -Training and Employment in Ports”, gathering 13 partners from 6 Regions from 5 different EU Member States and from various European sea basins (Atlantic, Channel, Baltic, Mediterranean).
